The One

I don’t know what to think about Dolce & Gabbana, The One (Dolce & Gabbana 2006).  I really don’t…

This scent seems to be for only certain people because in some reviews it’s epic and glowing and in other reviews it’s just ugly.  On my skin it is a little bit of both, but not enough of the good to outweigh the bad and frankly I don’t like it.

It’s plasticky, gummy, and off smelling (and this is recently acquired sample from Sephora).  During the drydown the gumminess subsides, and the floral notes take over thankfully, but unhappily the heavy, gloomy yuck reappears in the late drydown.  The saving mercy is that the sillage is low as well as the longetivity, with the caveat that there seems to be an extremely faint trace of it left over 24 hrs.

No, this is not the one for me.  At all.

I love Dr. Hauschka but the Firming Mask, at least on me, was nothing to write home about.  It’s greasy, and only seemed to improve my skin (combination skin) in an average sort of way.  I wouldn’t recommend it but it’s not a bad product either – just average with kudos for being natural.

Yesterday I was shocked several times while watching Downton Abbey.  In a post from last week I said that Mary and Lord Gillingham seemed to be planning their activities a bit much and that Mary didn’t seem all that excited about their romance (and neither did Lord Gillingham to be honest).  I also mentioned that I hoped Mary and Tom would have a late evening talk alone together where they would confide in each other and ignite a few sparks… Well…  those thoughts/wishes all seemed to be forecasts for episode three (in my opinion).  How fun…

I think Downton Abbey is getting i’s charm back for this viewer…  😉 And I am very relieved to say that I think Ms. Bunting and Gillingham will be making an exit shortly. 🙂

Until Wednesday…
