Tory Burch

Tory Burch’s first fragrance, Tory Burch (Tory Burch 2013)  smells like a mixture of several contemporary fragrances to my nose.  It reminds me of Clinique Happy and Cartier Declaration to name two of them…  Frankly, it’s not a terribly original fragrance, but it is very attractive and my husband loved the way it smelled on me.  He’s not one to comment randomly on my perfume, so that’s saying something I suppose…

And then there’s RMS Beauty’s  “Un” Cover-Up #22…

The “Un” Cover-Up was ok.  It covers like a regular concealer – nothing more and nothing less.  It isn’t drying, but it’s also awkward to use since you hae to constantly dig your fingers or a brush into the small jar to get any concealer out and I question the hygenic integrity of this method…   It doesn’t have anything really terrible in it though (as far as I can tell), and it does contain coconut oil which may or may not be a good thing depending on how your skin reacts to coconut oil (some people break out and others find it moisturizing).  So, overall, it’s a mixed bag.  Not bad but not fantastic.

I was in the mood for coral lip color this weekend so I decided to try Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lipstick in Palm Beach. It’s a pretty color (on the warmer end of things I think).  It’s bright, cheerful and hydrating while staying fairly matte.  It’s not as easy to apply as some lipsticks but it’s not bad either…  The color stays put, but you do have to reapply it fairly often. There isn’t much of a stain left behind, but again, it was a nice, fairly matte, bright color while it was on the lips.  The packaging was pleasant too.

I watched the final episode of this season’s Downton Abbey last night…  I’m slightly depressed that it’s over for almost an entire year (not shocking at all).  However, there are so many plot twists and new storylines in the making that I’m sure it will be worth the wait.  I particularly enjoyed seeing Thomas doing his best last night, and the tender romance between Mrs Hughes and Mr Carson, but of course the whole episode was divine.  🙂

Anyway…  Until Wednesday.
