Cleopatra

DSC01707 (2)Cleopatra, a fragrance by Tocca  (Tocca 2007) is an urbane, lovely oriental floral.   Top notes are: black currant, grapefruit, and green notes.  Middle notes are: jasmine, tuberose, and peach and base notes are amber and patchouli.

I’ve noticed I have a predilection for orientals, especially those with a hint of peach or apricot.  There’s something about those two notes that create an engaging yet refreshing quality…

I also smell a kick of grapefruit from start to finish.  And, it’s in perfect harmony with the other notes (cassis and tuberose in particular).  Instead of being acerbic or too literal the grapefruit is really light and uplifting.

Sillage is light to moderate and longevity moderate to strong.  I wish Cleopatra was more detectable, but I’ll try wearing it on a warm day and see what happens.  And, fittingly, this scent would be a perfect match for early summer or late spring anyway.

Until tomorrow. 🙂
