Chevron Perfume is a slightly airy, licorice (anise) spicy, and almost sexy sort of fragrance. Yet, and it’s surprising how well it works, it also smells like the beach in a “perfumey” sort of way or like gravel on the country roads of the past (patchouli? sandalwood?).   It has a tremendously retro feel and it’s actually pretty charming.

During the drydown however, it becomes beautiful as it mellows and changes from bold to light and balsamic.  It flows nicely until the end when it just warms softly off until only a faint hint remains.

If you can find Chevron Perfume (I don’t know if that’s going to be easy because I can’t find a thing about it online) buy it. It’s a very unique scent. 🙂

Last night my husband and I ate macaroni and cheese with our son and in the background old episodes of Mad Men were playing on AMC.  Sunday (tomorrow) is of course the final episode.

I remember when I first heard about Mad Men.  It was years and years ago from a friend I had in college who adored vintage fashion and had her own very successful fashion blog.  I took her opinions very seriously.  I still do actually… even though we haven’t talked in years.  She adored Mad Men.  Is it any wonder I take her opinions seriously?  🙂

Anyway, I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I had never imbibed Spanish wine until last night.  It was fantastic. How have I never had Spanish wine?

It goes surprisingly well with mac and cheese. <shrug>

And on a more serious note, as I’m writing this it occurs to me that there are so many things I can’t predict right now.  I can’t predict the final episode of Mad Men, or the results of my husband’s actuarial test (not of equal importance or comparable importance of course).  I can’t predict how my life will change or stay the same, or how people will react to me or treat me in general.  And I’m alright with that…  I really am…   It’s an adventure.

I hope you’re having a nice weekend.  🙂
