Among the few Chanels I’ve hesitated to purchase is Allure (Chanel 1996). Something about the late 90’s, sweet meets clean, shampooesque, and subtle, sleek charm just didn’t make me want to buy it. But as it has a gentle, fresh beauty I’m in the mood for lately I found myself endeared to it recently so I added it to my collection.
So far I’ve only worn this long lasting classic in cold or cool weather but, so far I can say that the passion fruit, peach, water lily, freesia, and patchouli stand out most on my skin. And while its not a perfect match for my skin chemistry it’s soothing and uplifting none-the-less. I look forward to wearing it in the summer.
Top notes: passionate, peach, bergamot, mandarin orange, and lemon. Middle notes: Magnolia, freesia, honeysuckle, jasmine, water lily, rose, orange blossom and peony. Base notes: Vanilla, patchouli, amber, sandalwood and vetiver.
