And on a much happier note than my last post…I love GOOP.
Yes. Gwenyth Paltrow’s GOOP.
I’ve perused her blog on and off over the years, and I bought something from there years ago but I hadn’t again until last week. I needed a new moisturizer and I decided to try it once more.
GOOP doesn’t send free samples with every purchase like Sephora…or most other places actually. And frankly the shipping time takes longer than most other places too. But…it seems that GOOP takes time to sift through all the current products available and find the top choices.
I like it.
The Binchotan Facial Puff (activated charcoal sponge) is beyond my expectations. I was thinking it’d be this nice, gentle sort of exfoliator for my face. But no, it’s so much better than that.
The charcoal puff is more like a warm (you run it under warm water), ultra soothing bath meets facial massage. At least, that’s been my experience. And, it actually does clean, exfoliate and seemingly clarify your skin without even using any products combined with it. It also seems to draw out impurities…
Of course, the facial puff only lasts for two months or so (they say three but I’m guessing it won’t last quite that long) and you have to treat it carefully. It had to be dried properly or stored in the refrigerator. BUT, it’s seemingly worth it. I’ll definitely add it as a regular to my routine.
I should note quickly that I’ve given up (for the time being) on finding my replacement for Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair. There’s just nothing like it. It always unfailingly works so fantastically well with my skin and does its job beautifully. My skin looks a ton better when I use it.
The microdermabrasion by GOOP is good… Very good. My skin felt a lot smoother after I first used it and it felt nice to use. It has only a faint smell and it feels rather thick but not heavy on the skin. Actually, it’s even sort of luxurious. I may purchase a full bottle… We’ll see. But for what it is, it’s decent.
Pai was superb. Is superb… I’ll definitely repurchase it. I’ve been looking for just the right daytime moisturizer and this one is great (so far). It’s genuinely calming and moisturizing and it doesn’t seem to just lay on the skin but instead it absorbs well. Not a lot is required either.
…And the other two items… One is a brush for dry brushing (great for detoxing) and the other is actually for cleaning vegetables. They’re not the highest quality absolutely ever, but they’re certainly more than good enough and they work very well. The dry brush is easy to use and feels very nice. The vegetable brush is great too. I’m glad I bought them.
So, will I be back to GOOP to buy more? Yes. Most definitely yes.
