I purchased this bottle of Coromandel new from Chanel in 2015. It was a “blind buy” but I certainly didn’t regret it.
I’ve been given outright compliments while wearing this and on other occasions been given looks that suggested approval. People really seem to like Chanel Coromandel.
Anyway, I have tried or own other elegant patchouli fragrances, but I don’t think any of them are as lovely as Coromandel. There’s something almost epic about this one and given time I highly suspect it will only increase in admirers. So far it’s certainly one of the most timeless Les Exclusifs de Chanel fragrances. Possibly a true masterpiece even.
It’s beautiful. Sweet, but not cloying. Almost a muddy patchouli but only in this sexy sort of Hollywood way. Like…a scene from a romance film or other drama involving wet earth where there’s mud but it doesn’t ever get out of control and only serves to provide a certain amount of ambiance without the mess. The amber and frankincense may be part of what cleans it up actually… They are quite noble and admirable.
I’m obviously keeping this.
