Nose: Thierry Wasser

Notes according to Fragrantica: “Rose, litchi, and iris.”

I purchased this bottle in the Duty Free shop in Zurich, Switzerland. In 2011. So my mind quickly returns to that summer and all those memories when I smell it.

Litchi. The rose is…astoundingly pretty. Soft, jammy, lactonic even possibly. It’s a treat. And the iris is in an unusually good mood. Joyful, bright. But the litchi is the watery, citrusy, gorgeous note that sings the brightest, loudest and most dominantly, in my opinion.

It’s sad. This fragrance never was all that popular…but it’s such a good fragrance.

Nose: by Jean-Paul Guerlain and Mathilde Laurent

Notes according to Fragrantica: “Top notes are Grapefruit and Bergamot; middle notes are Cassia, Petitgrain and Neroli; base notes are Patchouli and Vanilla.”

To me, Pamplelune is the epitome of all that’s lovely about the Aqua Allegoria fragrance line. It’s thee quintessential Aqua Allegoria.

Bright, juicy, delicious…poignant grapefruit. Yum! 😍 It’s a wonderful experience wearing Pamplelune. You feel cooler even possibly. …To me it’s a timeless summer scent.

The thing is…like a good glass of iced sweet tea…the vanilla and patchouli at the hand of Guerlain…and Mathilde Laurent…is the perfect canvas for grapefruit. It’s…stunning. Thankfully Neiman Marcus still sells it. So does Macy’s. It’s worn. Wisely!
