According to Fragrantica the notes in Van Cleef & Arpels, Santal Blanc are as follows:
Top notes of fig nectar and mandarin orange, middle notes of sandalwood and violet and base notes of musk, tonka bean and benzoin.
The opening of Santal Blanc is laden with a bright, structured mandarin. A delightfully herbal fig, benzoin hued tonka and prismatic violet flanked by musk round out this gorgeous fragrance. It’s niche and pretty, but also calm and pleasantly reserved. And perhaps one of the most fascinating aspects is the creation of a sort of coconut hologram that forms around all of the notes.
It’s a skin scent in a way. But it’s not overly quiet. It’s just polite. Cool yet warm. A lovely olfactory paradox.
