“Hazards” by F. Scott Fitzgerald

1940 by The Submarines plays.

(May 6th, last post of the day – second post)

My great granddaughter is this singer.

Isn’t this song creepy?

And you know…she’s very stable. Relatively speaking. So was my daughter, compared to us. By us I mean Zelda and me.

You, Me and the Bourgeoisie by The Submarines plays.

Listen. She’s actually singing something very deep. It’s EVERYTHING.

But of course God is the only light.

Why didn’t her song bring world peace? It was popular! They played it over and over again for Apple. Wasn’t it Apple?

But people aren’t listening. Or they made it a commercial. Why? To sublimate the message. Make it so glaring obvious you miss it. That’s me. Her views are my views. But…my daughter internalized my value system. And that’s Lacey’s value system to some degree too.

AND that was Marilyn Monroe’s value system too. When she was sane. Or able to think.

Why did they kill Marilyn?

Because people get too deep.

People get too…serious.

“Like for real.” says Kim.

YES!!!

People don’t want to hear this. It’s too sad. It’s too true.

“Because then they need God.” says Jonah Wiley.

Do they!? Tell us more, Jonah!!

“They do.” says Kim.

Yeah.

But do you know? I hope so. Does HE!??

Jonah!! Tell us more!!!

“Maybe not, Scott.” says Taylor Swift.

Then who’s gonna tell us!?

“Not me. I’m not that.” says Taylor.

I know. I know that.

Jonah!!! Tell us!!!

“I will!” says Chris Hayes.

You don’t.

Jonah!!! HEY!!!

*Jonah laughs.*

“So thru killed off these people…because they were too deep!??” asks Great Britain. “Starting where!?”

“England.” says Scott. “Not Ireland. England.”

“Why!??” asks Great Britain.

“Because it kept causing wars.” says Scott.

“Makes sense.” says Great Britain. “Henry. Others. …And…it accidentally destroyed the West. Because…they were needed. Lacey, Marilyn. They’re the tail end. People are the same. But they’re…not as…troublesome. The Boomers are SO vain at times. …I’m sorry.”

“So what are we!?” asks Kim.

“You’re gorgeous!

It’s not like that.

Or is it? Hmm.

Well…you’re perfectly lovable. …I just…I felt it too. But I was very…sad. And I loved sadness.

It’s just not…as…nice.

To be them or be without them.

I thought Zelda was that.

Lacey feels Lem is that. And maybe he is.

What is it?

It’s what she is. And I am, maybe. Or loved.

I loved it too, Kim.

Yes. And it’s not we aren’t…beautiful.

So what are we?

Monuments!!

We’re MONUMENTAL.

We’re HUGE.

And that’s grand and great and beautiful. But it’s not….that.

Maybe we can admire it. Why can’t they?” says Scott.

“Is it a class issue?” asks Lacey.

“I think so!” says Taylor Swift.

“Taylor are you monumental? Or closer to the old days?” asks the VMAS.

“I’m closer to them. But I hide it.” she says. “By overplaying it in the wrong directions.”

“That’s genius.

You remind me of me and my sister.” says Matthew Nesheim.

“Bethany!” says Taylor.

“Yes!!

For real.” says Matthew.

“Am I Swedish?” she says.

He shrugs.

“Or are we genius German Jews from the 1550’s?” she says. “In hiding.”

Matthew smiles.

“I might not know.” she says.

He thinks.

“You know…you are pretty.

It’s not that.

You just really seem a lot like us.” he says.

“Is reincarnation real?” asks Taylor.

“You might be my daughter. If it’s real.” says Judge Howard of Port Townsend.

“Oh shit.” says the CIA.

“Why did you come back as a country music star?” asks Gwen. “If it’s real. It MIGHT NOT BE.”

“What was my name?” asks Taylor.

“Brit? I think. Britt? Britt Howard?” says Lacey.

“So you were a judge?” asks Taylor Swift.

He looks at her. “Yes!”

“You do seem like us.” says someone.

“You died. You had SIDS.” says Lacey. “If there’s reincarnation.”

“I was really pretty!!” says Taylor.

“Yeah. You’re pretty now. But you were extremely lovely.” says someone.

“What would I be!?” she asks.

“A very big deal.” says Judge Howard.

“Would I be famous?” she asks.

“No!” says her millionaire grandfather. “You’d be married to a very, very wealthy man.”

“We’re snobs.” says Taylor.

“Yes.” he says. “Yes.”

“You might be a professor.” says Gwen.

“Where?” asks Taylor.

“Some elite school on the West Coast.” says Judge Howard. “Now. You figure out if it’s real or not.”

And at that Lacey hides in a pyramid.

“Is she our daughter or not?” asks Gwen.

“We have a second daughter.

Wouldn’t it be awful if she is Taylor? Or would it?” asks Judge Howard.

“So our family voted for Obama?” asks Taylor Swift.

“We were bound by honor to!” says her first cousin who voted in the Electoral College.

“Are we Republicans?” asks Taylor.

“We’re independents. But…wow! What a question.” says Judge Howard.

“We were. We convinced them not to be.” says her brother.

And at that if reincarnation is real Taylor Swift cries in the afterlife.

“I’m sorry I thought they could be my family.” says Bobby.

Bobby. There’s a difference between acting and reality. And there’s a difference between being and the possibility of being.

“So you were a lawyer and mom was a nutritionist?” asks Taylor.

“Yes!” says Judge Howard. “If it’s real.”

“She was a registered dietitian.” says her sister.

“We’re still secretly Republicans.” says Taylor Swift.

“So the farm is MY life!?!” shouts Taylor Swift.

“Yes. It’s a real farm.

And we’re also real aristocrats.

And we’re real Scandinavians.

Old Money.

And no! If you’re Britt…Lacey’s supposed to be with Lem. With their kids.” says someone.

“So was I supposed to be here??” she asks.

“Yes!! If you’re Britt we very much wanted you here with us.” says Gwen. “Thank you for coming back. I’m sorry I don’t see you.

You sound great!!!” says Gwen.

“What does grandpa think of my career?” asks Taylor.

A Nesheim laughs.

“You’re…risqué.” says Gwen. “But…that’s what they do. So I guess you have to do it.

No. We’re not idiots.

But…it’s not our thing. Not that we wouldn’t be impressed!”

“And my uncle flies a plane?” asks Taylor.

“No. That’s my brother. Both of them.” says Carole Anderson.

“And you’re not my aunt?” asks Taylor.

“No. He’s your first cousin once removed.” says Gwen.

“Why do we like planes?” asks Taylor.

“We don’t. He does.” says Gwen.

“What do we like?” asks Taylor.

“Hiking. Mountain climbing. Skiing. Soccer? Kayaking. Sailing? Swimming.” says Gwen.

“So we’re rich?” asks Taylor.

“Yup.” says Gwen.

And if there’s reincarnation Taylor cries.

“Do I have curly hair!?” asks Taylor.

“Yes! So does your brother.” says Judge Howard.

“So WE sail!?” says Taylor.

“Yes!! Well.” says her cousin Eric.

“You wanna sail!?” asks Grandpa HB.

“Yes.” says Taylor.

“Be careful. We’re either teaching you a lesson. Or you actually are Britt.” says Judge Howard.

“That’s ME!” says Taylor.

“Yes!!” says Judge Howard. “Very preppy.”

“But you’d have curly hair and look less like Lacey.” says HB.

“So if there’s reincarnation Lacey and I’m actually your cousin and you’re not even supposed to be here somehow the American aristocracy was gutted. I don’t know how but it’s evil.” says Taylor Swift in the afterlife?
