There are few fragrances that affect me emotionally the way Vol De Nuit does. Perhaps it’s the woody, feminine, pensive beauty of this gorgeous Guerlain composed by Jacques Guerlain in 1933 or the thought of flying in the air in the 1930’s? Whatever it is…I love this one.

The flacon Rayonnant designed to look like a propeller is also iconic and glorious. And, of course, it perfectly suits Vol De Nuit.

The notes on Fragrantica are listed as: Galbanum, Narcissus, Bergamot, Orange Blossom, Lemon, Orange, Mandarin Orange, Iris, Narcissus, Aldehydes, Vanilla, Violet, Indonesian Carnation, Rose, Jasmine. Oakmoss, Orris Root, Sandalwood, Spices and Musk. …Galbanum is a favorite note of mine, as are iris, violet, oakmoss, citrus, vanilla, and carnation. Actually there isn’t a note in this fragrance I don’t love…

The 2010’s parfum I own isn’t fantastic as far as projection, but it’s perfect for wearing in public for that very reason. Someday maybe I’ll be fortunate enough to own a vintage of this bottle.
