Debuting in 1999 this Jean Paul Guerlain collaboration with Mathilde Laurent for Guerlain is a sharp, prickly rose.

My vintage bottle reminds me of the wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because it was purchased the day they were married. I recall sitting outside the estate sale thinking about the awkward life (for her) Meghan was about to lead and wondering if she was truly prepared for it. This fragrance is hilariously appropriate.
At first it’s almost offensive on my skin. But…the rose is gorgeous and it shines through over time.
According to Fragrantica the notes are Hyacinth, Rose, Iris, and Violet. But it’s almost herbal… Almost like a biting chypre, actually. At least on my skin.
Today, on a cold January day, it’s not prim but it’s also very day appropriate. I’ll wear it and enjoy it.
