When Lacey was at Messiah College she spent one or two summers with Rebecca as her roommate. The summer Lacey worked in the Messiah College Business Office, wore long necklaces with maxi skirts and Rebecca managed the dining hall and dated a high schooler…Lacey had a dream. She had a dream while she slept on the top bunk and Rebecca slept on the bottom bunk…that Bobby Kennedy Sr. and Ethel came into her room.
Bobby and Ethel stood there dressed in day clothes. Bobby wore a shirt and pants and possibly a tie. Ethel wore a fitted tweed suit. Her hair was short. They looked to be in their 20’s or 30’s.
Ethel smiled and Bobby looked upset.
“I’m furious about who you married!” says Bobby Kennedy Sr..
Ethel and Bobby went to the wedding.
But who was it?
Demons by Doja Cat plays and it accidentally turns into a prayer and worship song to Christ. In Lacey’s mind. Like spiritual warfare for the cross of Christ. Like a practical joke on Satan? Except also warfare because people are angry.
…The Illuminati, as per usual, ignores the warning.
“That song is about the Bat Crew dogging the hoe!” shouts Erin Gloria Ryan.
“Who’s the hoe? Lacey?” asks Lem.
Erin Gloria Ryan looks smug and condescending. Her lips twisted into a pucker of disdain and hate.
“So I’m the hoe?” asks Lacey.
Erin Gloria Ryan shrugs.
“I can’t be properly insulted until I know the insult.” says Lacey. “But y’all will expect me to be in totally pure. No mistakes. No gimmicks. Just…what? The female Devil of your imagination? …But then you worship Satan. So?”
“The Devil and Satan are the same person!” clarifies the Illuminati to their own members.
“So…she’s neither. So…what’s the insult?” asks Lem. “Or there isn’t one?”
They refuse to explain.
For seven years.
“It’s about social class. I got that part of the insult!” says Lacey. “But what’s the rest of it?”
“Doja…that lovely black woman who’s standing upside down is a woman. That’s just a clever way of being chaste? Which is a Christian virtue. And then you vacuumed? So far I’m not catching the evil. You seem possibly confused, dear. …And are you entirely sure your ‘demons’ are all demons? Mightn’t some of them be dead people?” wonders Julie Christie.
“Possibly.” says a black man.
“Oh dear! Then this is a mess! Isn’t it?!?” says Julie Christie.
Erin Gloria Ryan looks perturbed.
“We’re wondering if you people are looking for photos of horses? On the farm.” says Nils Nesheim. “We have photographic evidence!”
“Have you shared said evidence?” asks a hater in the Illuminati.
“Yes! On Instagram in 2017 or 2018, I think.” says Lacey.
“There’s others?” asks Erin.
“Yes! Oh goodness yes!” says Nils.
“I just can’t help but think they’re making it up!” says Diego Blue.
“I agree!” says Erin’s body double.
Erin looks uneasy.
String Quartet No. 3 (Mishima) by Philip Glass plays.
“We thought you were white trash!” says a white trash billionaire to Lacey, smugly.
“When you shared the horse photo!” says another white trash billionaire.
“Why? What was white trash about it?” asks Jill Schiebel.
“It’s her cousin’s shirt and pants!” says a bourgeois man in the Illuminati.
“Where are you from?” asks Jill.
“New York?” he says.
Jill starts losing her patience.
“What?!? Near Connecticut.” he says.
“Where do I begin??” says Nancy trying to sound elite.
“You want to explain?! Go ahead!” says Jill, exasperated. “Let’s see if you actually can.”
“Go on darling. I’m sure you know more than these people do.” says Chris Hayes with certainty. He’s being sincere.
“Umm…okay.” says Nancy awkwardly. “Umm…”. She shrugs. “Well…was it the weather?”
“The weather?” asks NBC.
“I have no idea.” says Nancy.
“What was he wearing?” asks Jill Schiebel.
“Western clothes. Like…shirts with the mother of pearl buttons?” says Chris Hayes. “And like…cowboy work pants?”
“When was the photo from?” asks Jill.
“1993?” says Chris.
“I’m lost. They still wear those clothes. In every class.” says Jill.
The Illuminati thinks.
“No!!” says George Soros. “That’s not elite wear.”
“Right?! There is no Western old money elite.” says Chris Hayes with authority.
“That’s bullshit.” says Jill Schiebel. “You’re white trash city people who got taken far too seriously.” She scoffs. “Ignorant, uneducated bourgeois hacks too.”
“That’s what I was thinking.” says Nancy.
Robert Redford imitates their style? But they live the life.
“We’re not going to pretend that 30,000 acres and trillions in oil…is an aristocratic family!” says a woman on Tik Tok named Kiki Astor. Is she being serious or facetious?
“She’s being facetious!” yells MSNBC.
“I’m confused. How?!” asks Sir Winston Churchill. “It’s a joke but is it intentional or not?”
“I can’t fathom how you people could be that dumb!” yells Kiki Astor from Tik Tok.
“We’re not. We just want her to think we are!” says George Soros.
“To torture her??” says Kiki Astor.
He laughs and smiles awkwardly.
“Umm…but the family still is that!” repeatedly said Lacey confused, for years.
“No! That’s a lie!” said Chris Hayes.
“What could that possibly mean?” says Kiki Astor from Tik Tok like a woman with a fried brain or a sincere lack of intelligence.
“We don’t know!” says Lady Gaga.
“But we’re supposed to!” shouted Prince Philip.
What is Kiki Astors actual perspective. She’s upper middle class. Southern. Her family has a farm. She married a Middle Eastern man. They’re just an ordinary, land rich upper middle class family. Her husband has some impressive credentials. Possibly some wealth. Her kids went to good schools. They’re…ordinary upper middle class people. Common but not common.
“We feel rich because the land has skyrocketed in value.” says Kiki Astor on Tik Tok. “But it’s a charade. It’s only worth $6 million or so. Maybe $10 million. But…it’s not at all like I pretend. I’m acting on Tik Tok for the sake of my ego, entertainment and…beauty.” says Kiki from Tik Tok.
“You’re doing what I did.” says Kiira Gustafson. “It’s a fun act.”
“Except I thought Lacey was doing that too somehow.” says Chris Hayes.
“So did most of us.” says the American Illuminati.
“Wait! Wait! …So you never looked into it?” asks Frannie from Alabama.
“No. We’re too important and too busy. And we thought that was daring…risky…and far more elite.” says Chris Hayes.
“She rarely looks up anything beyond once or twice. And lots of us guys…felt intimidated by her brain.” say the Boomer men in the Illuminati.
“Gee whiz!” says Kiki Astor from Tik Tok.
Silence.
“So…you’ve been operating off of actual elite players knowledge…and the stupidity of everyone else?” asks Kiki Astor of Tik Tok.
“Yeah.” says Brian Glazer.
“We have…won.” says Diego Blue, triumphantly.
“Who’s we Diego?” asks Ron Howard.
“Death.” says Diego. “Death has won!” he says dancing in victory. He punches the air. He smiles, brightly.
“As a Christian or a Satanist?” asks George Soros.
“A Christian. Who’s grieving the death of my people. From bad government, drugs, global warming. Evil.” says Diego. “Death wins!!” shouts Diego.
A Hispanic woman hollers and whistles in agreement.
“Aren’t we supposed to be fighting death?” asks George Soros.
“We should consider Christianity.” says a dead woman from the grave.
“Why?!?” asks Diego. He looks exhausted. Rolls his eyes.
“Umm…” says Ron Howard.
“Yeah. Okay! …Life isn’t supposed to suck shit. But…death is AWESOME.” says Diego. “Jesus conquered the grave and death has no sting in Christ.”
The Boomers think.
“So you miss people. But you also don’t care too much because you plan to see them all again?” asks a psychic of Diego.
“Life right now in 2023 sucks shit!” says Diego. He shrugs.
“Why don’t you ever write anything inspired by Diego?” George Soros asks Chris Hayes.
“I just…haven’t?” says Chris Hayes.
Kiki Astor of Tik Tok laughs. “I could. Lots of actual writers could. And would.”
Later.
“We aren’t supposed to have flaws.” says Erin Gloria Ryan.
“Really? You have so many of them.” says Lacey to Erin. “ I wouldn’t think they were doing that.”
“But what are they?” asks Erin.
“See. You’re either trying to trick me or you’re explaining something or you’re having something explained to you.” says Lacey.
Debussy plays.
“A Separate Peace is secretly about me. Dylan Kleebold. Lem. …And little miss muffet?” says Lacey. She’s horrified. “John Knowles, that’s repulsive.”
Debussy plays.
“Your hair looked frizzy.” says Lacey to Erin Gloria Ryan. “Your makeup was harsh.” She thinks. “You looked poor.”
“How so?” asks a Real Housewife with frizzy hair.
“Because I have slightly similar hair. It’s…fine. It needs expensive products nowadays or it gets ugly looking. Or you have to let it go and let it be wavy.” says Lacey. “Also…did you use box dye?” She thinks. “I tried using cheap products and it didn’t work.” She thinks. “So…you’re either poor or you’re confused?”
“Who’s the mother in A Separate Peace?” asks Kiki Astor of Tik Tok.
“Bette Davis in “All About Eve” not Rose Kennedy.” says Lacey. “I don’t care if they did use Mercedes in the Kennedy family.”
More later.
