“Oops.” says Anne Frank watching Jack Kennedy as he waves his finger around twerking to We Move Lightly by Dustin Ohalloran.
She walks up to a dead Nazi guard and rubs his back kindly.
“Oh you’re such a dear.” says the guard. He pats her hand. “Go eat and rest!” he says.
They are either on good terms now or married.
“But you shot me.” she says to explain. To save me out of love…and then turned your heart inside out in anguish until you died.
“I’m fine! I can handle it!” says the dead Nazi guard.
Anne Frank cries. “You’re getting dragged into turmoil. I can see it.”
“I’m off duty in an hour.” says the Nazi.
“I’m worried!” says Anne Frank.
He gets serious. “I can’t shoot him.”
They discuss it all quietly.
Between Bars covered by Marika Hackman plays on behalf of possible romance between Anne Frank and a young Nazi soldier. Did she get killed by a Nazi soldier who fell in love with her and decided to save her from death by starvation by shooting her? Is that too hopeful and scary and beautiful for you to read? Huh?
