Notes according to Fragrantica: “Top notes are Aldehydes, Neroli and Bergamot; middle notes are Jasmine, Lilac, Ylang-Ylang, Rose and Carnation; base notes are Orris Root, Musk, Ambrette (Musk Mallow), Vetiver, Sandalwood, Opoponax, Vanila, Coumarin and Incense.”

The lilac and other florals are…very delicate. And while it’s very pretty…it’s not actually one of the best Les Exclusifs De Chanel. It’s almost too delicate. The concept of 1932 is lovely…but I wonder if in execution it…doesn’t quite…smell as it should? …I think it maybe should be fruitier or more of a white floral? Maybe the vanilla and sandalwood are not quite the right way for the lilac to express itself, so to speak. But that’s a terrible thing to say given that this was created by the great Jacques Polge. I love his work.

Honestly…the drydown is possibly one the most disappointing things about 1932.

Yet…it’s…still Jacques Polge. It’s still Chanel. It’s still Les Exclusifs De Chanel. So…it’s certainly worth having in my collection. I just always find it…very pretty but a bit disappointing every time I wear it.

Longevity and sillage are moderate. Average. …And again, it is pretty even if it’s not Chanel at its best.
