Bel Respiro

Nose: Jacques Polge

Notes According to Fragrantica: Green notes, grass, leather and flowers.

Year: 2007

Notes according to Chanel: all of the above including rosemary and galbanum.

This is far and away the most green of all Les Exclusifs De Chanel. It is, however, also an opulent almost heavy floral. Well…wildflower floral, if you will. It’s…almost like a chypre. Some people smell baby shampoo? No…that’s herbal. Almost medicinal. …And green. …It reminds me of quite a few 1980’s green florals, actually. And maybe those became what we think of when we smell baby shampoo, but originally they were perfume. …I definitely detect the rosemary.

Like Beige…this is one Chanel I rarely wear. And today I’m regretting that. …And yet not…because it’s fun to rediscover something I already have and truly enjoy it.

My gosh is it green!

You know what else it smells like? Grass by Gap. Do you recall those Gap 1990’s fragrances? Of course it doesn’t smell exactly like that. However there is a very refined Chanel portion of Bel Respiro that reminds one of Gap Grass.

…Longevity and projection are decent. Not spectacular but okay.
