New York City

It’s 1975. Lacey is married to Lem Billings. They’re in town for the weekend.

They spend most of their time in Connecticut.

But they kept a pied à terre for the rest of their lives, so to speak.

Lacey is walking through New York City, in Manhattan, as many people did and do. Buying groceries.

She walks hurriedly through the city. Shoving her way, politely, when necessary. Her pace is FAST. She walks in high heels.

But she can’t chew gum. She can’t chew gum and walk in high heels, in Manhattan. And that is where she’s quite feminine and curvy, as often women of her type do have to concentrate, in such a situation.

But no. She’s not stupid. And she’s actually quite aggressive.

“FUCK YOU!” yells a cab driver at Lacey.

Lacey turns to see what he wants. He’s just mad that she isn’t walking fast enough.

She laughs at him.

He’s Italian and he likes it. He whistles at her and laughs too.

A Belgian perfume collector: That’s Lacey!?

God: YES.

A Belgian perfume collector: Oh wow. That’s not who I thought we were talking to.

Cont.

Lacey keeps up her fast pace. She walks past a homeless man, who actually looks poor. “HERE! TAKE IT!” she yells at him, shoving $20 in his hand, as she wizzes by him.

He doesn’t bother saying “Thank you.”

She gets stared at. But it’s New York City so who cares?

She finally reaches their apartment. She walks up the stairs, walks in their apartment and begins HAPPILY making dinner. The apartment is air conditioned! It’s delicious.

She smiles.

Then begins gracefully and quickly cutting vegetables and herbs.

Dinner is ready in a half an hour. She’s had practice.

Lem comes home, happy as a clam. Lays down on the sofa. Clothes on, shoes off.

She brings him an iced drink.

He grabs her.

Dinner is eaten and finished by seven. The kids are both matriculating at an Ivy League.

Dessert is Baked Alaska.

God: What was dinner?

An Italian white wine seafood pasta.

With a salad (no parasites, of course).

A perfume collector: That’s not her!!!

The CIA: No, it is.

That’s VERY MUCH her.

Moloch: What do we hate?

It’s ALL there.

BE HONEST.

A hater: YOU GO TO HARVARD!

Lem: No!

Standford and Yale.

A perfume community hater: I wanna see a Nesheim in New York City.

But also, let’s see their homes.
