I Don’t Want To Wait

Listen to “I Don’t Want To Wait” by Paula Cole.

JFK joins Leigh Nash. Singing to Lem. A cover of Paula Cole’s classic.

In 2006.

“Jack. You’re already dead.” says a psychic channeling him.

“I know.

But I’m trying to wow…Lem. Remind him of the sacrifices I made. Believing.” says Jack.

A perfume community member: I thought that was…Putin singing to Lacey?

*they look confused*

Putin: No. I would sing her “U Can’t Touch This” and point to my dying…heart.

Lacey: *laughs*

He’s a sweetheart.

Putin: I can’t do anything. She moves me.

But I can be strong.

*he smiles*

*later*

A Old Gen. X Man: I just saw Lacey.

Do you understand what she looks like!?

It’s the Greatest Generation doppelgänger of Scotia. Her features look German. And French? But…she seems like Scotia.

Yes. I actually am a nerd.

I was just biking. In Minneapolis. And she’s on her way to coffee.

DAMN.

The thing is…I’m…a sexual man. *he laughs* No, I am. I think she noticed me too.

*he thinks*

But…it’s overwhelming. At my age? I like it. But…it was too much…-

She’s-

You know those guys who are intense? Come on! You know what I mean.

Jesus: Yes. I recognized that. I get it.

Gen. X man: Yeah! …She seems…rich. Like…whipped cream. …It’s too sexy.

Yes!! It’s too…much.

And some dudes..- *he whistles* I guess they can rock it. I’m at age where I like the finer things. They…delight me.

*he smiles*

But…I can’t possibly date her. Just admire her. And feel…well—

Putin: Is that an insult to men like me?

The Biker: No.

See…she’s just a chick. I can tell.

Who are you? You are dead?

Putin: No.

So it’s a compliment?

The Biker: It’s…-

Let me think.

Hold on.

*much later*

How the hell did I see that woman? I’m starting to think she was a ghost. The hair looks like it belonged to the 21st century, but the face and even the length of the hair she looks like she belongs in 1965? She looks like she belongs in the 1960’s.

I am impressed. Men of your generation knew how to have sex.

Putin: I am still alive.

But I am older.

The Biker: *nods*

I like the way you people look.

*smiles*

I’m impressed. I am impressed, sir.

Lacey’s Jewish relatives on Mark’s side: We are eastern European and you seemed Russian to us and it made us angry because how dare you come onto our land and demand we give you our sons for marriage.

Lacey: Except he wanted to marry me though.

The Bolsheviks: Fair enough and we are in America so you’re right. But we just can’t get over it.

He was our best one. I’m not saying that.

No, I didn’t say that. He was very precious to us and we love his brother very much and we love them all. We love many people.

His brother is smart not as smart as him, and there is a sort of dashing rebellious devil may care charm about Mark. His brother is very nice, but he was never going to be as impressive to Americans, Lacey as Mark.

And we’re angry because you did things to us that we are not happy about.

Lacey: “You understand I can tell!” is what you’re saying to me?

The Bolsheviks: Yes.

Look it’s not personal right? You sent us away from our land and we are very upset.

Putin: Yes, my family may have done that to you and what century?

The Bolsheviks: The 1600s. We were close to Russia and you or we were in Russia and your family. The Romanovs sent us off our land. You may wonder why we’re angry because what was that that she even had with you but we’re not stupid Vladimir we know how the Romanoffs think and we know that unless of lamb is 100% certain and he’s 100% able to guarantee her you will never leave the woman alone for the rest of eternity. Trust me that’s how these people are. They don’t stop.

You know, and you don’t know that about them because they seem so fragile like little Faberge eggs. They are not!

And I was not about to fall for that. And it was wrong Because psychically it’s completely psychotic. This woman had no way of knowing what I was angry about and yet I had to watch my back. Because I really was taking this whole thing very seriously I understand his psychology. I’ve been watching him and I don’t know what’s going on…

And to be honest with you, I am a little bit like the father on filler on the roof and that I know his psychology and so I was trying to be cold to her so she wouldn’t be totally screwed up and devastated. Because we really have a very nice family and I didn’t want her to get attached and be heartbroken.

So I was thinking of Putin I was thinking of the heartache and it didn’t quite work. We moved to Ohio and she’s laughing about it but no, it’s better than where we were. Trust me.z

I’m talking to her when I say that she doesn’t entirely believe me no it really has been an improvement. It seems like it wouldn’t be at this point but it really has but it really has been.

no she’s she’s she’s a sweetheart absolute sweetheart and Dave knew that but better than Harriet and that’s where I was wrong. He knew that Harriet knew that but not as well as Dave. Dave was was was German, and Lacey is German and he understood the Germans. He knew that she was an absolute sweetheart that she was a really nice person because there was intermarriage in the family between Germans and Jews, and that in that part of the family, so he genetically recognized her personality and he thought I’m not gonna say anything or I can tell this is actually a really nice person.

He tricks people in the family can if you’re reading this he tricked you he was trying to protect everybody, including her and her kids with his grandson. He loved your mother, but he did not think that she was always very nice.

I might also be jealous of Lacey. OK I’m obviously a relative on your mother side.

And she was angry because she had put in so much effort into raising you kids, and then here comes all these white girls-

*he laughs with Lacey*

I’m sorry, Lacey and I have a sense of humor that somewhat similar in some ways but no, it’s funny. She put in all this effort. Oh my word the way she worked and she had every intention of her son’s marrying a Jew and her grandson‘s marrying a Jew, but she was so loving that she didn’t want to kick out any nice person. She just she didn’t want to hurt anyone. By saying that she would really have rather had a Jewish daughter-in-law and a Jewish son-in-law and a Jewish granddaughter in law.

I don’t know if her kids realize that, but that really did bother her and Lacey picked up on it and she wasn’t wrong and that actually really is helpful because Lacey truly understands. She truly understood and understands that we just wanted to use and land and stuff like that.

What I don’t appreciate Ken is how you’ve let your wife bully her and what is up with all your all of your despair? You’re a very conflicted person as smart and wealthy as you are.

It’s good that you visit them. but she’s not the problem Ken you are and so is your wife so am I. So I don’t quite understand you sometimes, and you scare me slightly because you don’t seem to understand the forest for the trees. You’re gonna regret the fact that you let your wife be so openly antagonistic to her. And you’re gonna think why didn’t I take this man seriously.

I think you think I can’t control my wife. And you’re right you can’t control another person. You’re absolutely right. But could you have tried to keep her in line more or not?

Ken: I did what I thought I had to do.

A Bolshevik: you know I love you. You know I love Savannah and your kids. You know it you know I love you. I can tell and I wish I could apologize for everything that ever happened to you and I can’t because I’m dead.

Hopefully someday we could have this conversation I’m genuinely very sorry.

Maybe someday we can talk.

Ken: There are so many things I wish I knew about our family that I don’t even know.

A Bolshevik: your mother did love you, but she wasn’t my daughter, and there were mistakes that were made, and that’s really harsh thing to say, but there are things that she said to you and did that I am really quite angry about.

She came from a family of people who were really well off by today’s standards. Her grandparents were well they were doing well, but we were poor. We were very poor. Lacey thinks I should just tell you to go watch Fiddler on the roof. Because that’s your ancestry and you’ve done incredibly well and I’m very proud of you, but that is your ancestry.

We were poor, but we really worked hard and we stuck together and we were smart and we knew how to take care of ourselves and we knew what was right and what was wrong and what would matter. you came from an area of Russia that is to the south originally we were kind of on the border of several different countries, but it was Russia for a long time and then it sort of stopped being Russia. Lacey‘s hoping that this is real so she doesn’t have to worry that I’m not a ghost but no it was. It was the southern part of Russia at some point and we will talk about it more later.

Are we Russian not really we’re more eastern European but we are Jewish of course, and you were German on your father side. He was Jewish, but he was somewhat German and I was I was somewhat. Lacey wants to say Hungarian that might not be quite right but or Romanian something like that but that’s what she’s thinking anyway we’ll talk about it more later but no, we lived there for centuries Ken I don’t even know when we first moved there, but we lived in that part of the world for a very long time.

We farmed we sold leather goods. We sold leather goods in Russia, like saddles things that were made of leather. We also sold other things, but we sold goods and we farmed kind of like your wife ironically, but we were sales people and farmers.

we were reasonably well off, but not really I mean there was a lot of poverty in Russian Jewish Eastern European families. And you had to learn how to survive you had to learn how to work and be smart and part of the reason why I let her marry Mark is because she thinks the same way as us it’s it’s tough life‘s tough you do your best. I knew that she would be stabilizing for him and that he would get her in that way that you can’t just throw stuff away that you have to that you have to sort of keep moving forward and being stable and personal happiness is important but so is stability. It’s a very delicate balancing act.

It’s a very delicate balancing act yes? So I thought no it’s great. Go ahead and let her marry him. She’ll at least provide companionship for him. That’s solid and sincere. And so I sound like I’m contradicting myself you know I’m not. I had concerns. I have issues with part of me things OK but this woman is really stable woman actually and she’s really calm and diligent and she keeps telling him calm down do your work. Keep your head up go to sleep eat your food and it’s like that that’s right. You bet you bet.

No It’s she’s very practical Ken and it’s like OK. Keep your head up. Do your job go to sleep? Pay your bills love yourself. Take a deep breath and I thought you know this chick has got the hang of it.

So I knew it wasn’t gonna be perfect, but I thought gosh it’s better than nothing. It’s better than him being lonely dying of alcoholism at 40. It’s better than her being miserable. I don’t know where. I mean no it’s not perfect but gosh you know life is tough and I understand that from personal experience.

Yes, Lacey is sensing that. I really am like the father in fiddler on the roof. i’m sorry that I can’t say more to you. God is telling me that I need to stop. I would like to go on and on and on for a long time.

The Jews understand the realm of the dead. And I was there sometimes in Ohio when your mother used to make breakfast for everyone. I would sit in a chair in the kitchen and watch you guys. I had other people to watch but I watched you all sometimes and I thought boy this is a nice this is nice. These these kids really turned out pretty dang well as Lacey would say

There’s not much else I can say cause there are problems, but I want you to understand that there’s a lot of love for you in your family.

Lacey: I think he needed to say that and God is allowing me to do this and I’m very angry at God so I decided to just let him talk. You’re not supposed to channel the dead OK but God‘s not legalistic and I have very real contentions with God right now so he was able to say a few words and I think it’s funny and that’s between me and God. I’m not laughing at God, but I am angry at him and that is between me and my father in heaven.

I guess I sort of am being not rebellious against. I’m not rebelling against Scott. I’m not rejecting him, but I’m very angry and I am being a bit rebellious and I guess your ancestor was allowed to say a few things so

God: she’s very mad and there’s a perfectly good reason and I’m not angry at her and she’s right I am letting her speak on behalf of the dead and it’s real. A lot of this blog is up for debate we’ll say, but the dead have been able to say some various sincere legitimate things knowing Folwell that people could be reading this in Mark‘s actual family out of curiosity, and if they come across that, maybe they’ll be comforted by it.

I’m I’m not legalistic God I’m not about defining human emotion and turning people into zombies for the sake of some law that doesn’t really apply to that specific person. There are laws that cannot be broken. You’re never supposed to molest a child. You’re not supposed to actually steal from people, but this is not really necromancy and she has chosen to be a little twerp and just run as fast as she can to see if I can chase her down.

Like oh you think you love me watch this. You’re allowing this OK well, we’ll see what you allow. Is this necromancy or not? Is this necromancy or not? She says that to me frequently is this necromancy or not Dad is this necromancy or not?

Yes, I am actually got the father and we are actually quite close but she wasn’t really parented in that way at least in this life if they’re even as reincarnation and so she’s trying to push my buttons just to see what I’m going to do.
