“The Troubled” by Lem Billings

(July 27th, 2024 – Late Night)

Summa For Strings And Orchestra by Arvo Pärt plays.

(The next day. At 12:14 PM)

Later.

“I was straight. I don’t get it. …Why are you still friends with Louis and Harold?” says Lem.

Lacey’s attacked and distracted.

“Because of this morning.” says Lacey.

“Yeah. …They won’t let it go.” says Lem.

“Are we attacking the Irish? Be honest.” says Lacey.

“No.” says Lem.

Later.

“Were you bragging?” asks Casi of Lacey.

“At first?” asks Lacey.

“Yeah.” says Casi.

“Not necessarily. But kind of?” says Lacey.

“Why?” says Casi.

Lacey stares at her. “Because I was sick of being so damn nice.”

“What do you mean by nice?” says Casi.

Lacey stares at her.

Suddenly Lacey is sadistically distracted.

“Look, growing-up I was instructed to be…constantly nice. Just nice. …But…it went much too far…and my parents used everyone to abuse me. Vicariously. So…I never figured out what bragging was entirely, necessarily. …And by age 30 I was done being so damn nice.” says Lacey.

“Yeah. Okay. That makes complete psychological sense.

But…if you’re so…upper class…and Old Money then why are you not loved? By a man. Because you’re hot.” says a Millennial woman to Lacey. “I’m just being real.”

“My parents thoroughly sent me to living Hell.” says Lacey. “And nobody saved me. And dead people fed into it. And…no. Nobody but God was able to save me. Lem seemingly tried but wasn’t able to given what he chose to do with his life. And possibly for totally sane and forgivable reasons. …And I’m still living it.” says Lacey.

“Did you accidentally find the Illuminati?” she asks.

Lacey laughs. “Did I?”

“Did you?” she says.

“You tell me. Right?” says Lacey.

“So…you’re totally fucked. Until you’re dead.” she says.

November by Max Richter plays.

“Yup.” says Lacey.

“You have no hope of ever getting married again?” asks another woman.

“NO!!!” yells Lacey. “ARE YOU SMUG PEASANT BASTARDS FROM HELL HAPPY!?!”

“Apparently not.” says Chris Hayes.

“WHY!? Why don’t you all take turns sucking Satan’s cock like Jack Kennedy? Maybe he’ll make you reincarnated and you can all come back as pretty princesses and kick imaginary people’s asses with your glory and glamour. Because you don’t want real luxury and riches in Heaven do you? No? You just want Hell on Earth for everyone who’s not you?” says Lacey. “YOU HEARTLESS DEMONS!!??”

“So your life…isn’t working out?” says a man.

“WORSE THAN YOURS YOU DOG!!! If that’s all you are!” bites Lacey.

Fratres by Arvo Pärt plays.

“We’re not attacking the Irish.” says Princess Ann.

“Then why are they attacking us?” says Lacey.

She thinks. Winces trying to stretch her perspective. She thinks.

“I don’t think it’s possible. There’s no righteous way for them to be doing this to you.” she says.

Lacey cries. “Then why are they doing it!??”

“Yeah. JD wonders the same thing. Everyday.” says Usha Vance.

Princess Ann cries too.

“If there’s reincarnation…I can’t stand what they’re doing to themselves. It’s pure evil.” says Lacey.

Ann nods.

“Yeah.” says Usha.

“HOW…are we supposed to stop them!?” says Lacey.

Ann looks perplexed too.

“Because it’s reincarnation.” says Usha.

“If reincarnation is in the Bible, yes. And that’s the problem.” says Lacey.

“YEAH. And speaking from experience, even if Lem is Constantine…taking him to task for any mistakes he made….in interpreting the Bible…beyond what’s reasonable…is still evil.” says Usha.

Lacey looks thoughtful.

“But I agree with Jesus. I wish for none to be lost.” says Lacey.

JD cries in the future here.

“We can’t control them.” says Queen Camilla.

“That’s a hard thing for me to let go of.” says Lacey.

Usha cries too.

“Well…God’s on it!” she says.

“I suppose that’s the only thing we have.” says Lacey.

She smiles.

“I hope they know you…care.” says Usha.

“It’s a mess.” says Lacey.

An Indian man cries.

Good Morning, Midnight by Johann Jóhannsson plays.

“What did we do to attack you?” says Casi.

“The perfume community?” says Lacey .

“Yeah!” says Casi, like she’s stupid.

“Nothing? Necessarily. …It wasn’t you. That was my stance in life in general. At age 30.” says Lacey.

Princess Ann nods.

“So you actually have…administrative policies!? FOR LIFE!?” says Casi.

“YES! Absolutely. I have most if not all of my life. I think most people do.” says Lacey. “If not everyone. Psychology is somewhat based on that premise.” she thinks. “Among other things.”

“So it wasn’t personal unless if it was personal?” says Casi.

“Against all of you? Yeah.” says Lacey.

“So you didn’t have it out for any of us?” asks Dmitry.

“No! I don’t think that even makes sense, necessarily. But no.” says Lacey.

“No! You could have!” says a man.

“Mmm. …Yeah. In a way that’s true…but given my psychology it falls apart. Mostly if not entirely.” says Lacey.

“Why don’t you just join a yacht club?” says Dmitry.

“We’re considering it. But…why would that solve things?” says Lacey.

“Because you’re lonely.” says Dmitry.

“Yeah. Why would that solve things?” says Harold Loeb.

“Hold on! You really…?” says Dmitry to Harold Loeb.

“Yeah!” says Harold.

“So you didn’t know any of us?” says a perfume guy.

“Nope.” says Lacey.

“That might not have made sense to think that.” says Lem. “If you ever did.”

“Hold on! …If this blog actually is Harold Loeb talking to us…I just want to say to him that…he astounds me. …His love for Brett Ashley is…profound.” says Dmitry.

“Is it? I’m not sure.” says Lem.

“She never lets go either.” says Harold. “It’s…bad.”

“WHY!?” says Mira.

“Because. I don’t know. But she doesn’t?” says Harold.

“Harold, that’s stupid.” says Dmitry.

“Yeah! But Dmitry…we can’t escape anything anymore.” says Harold. “And for people like Lacey that’s possibly Heaven. But for Brett that’s…Purgatory, we’ll say.”

JD Vance laughs and then cries. Laughs again.

“Dude! She’s OBVIOUSLY into and lying.” says JD Vance.

Harold looks sad. “What happened in Paris…really broke me. Hemingway wasn’t lying.” he says.

“So you struggle to stand up for yourself now?” says JD.

“Uhhuh!” says Harold.

“But why take it out on Lacey?” says JD Vance.

“Yeah. Good question.” says Lacey.

“I think…maybe I thought she could cure me. She’s extremely beautiful.” says Harold. “And nice. We’ll say nice.”

“So you just can’t get over Brett?” says JD.

“Yeah. …And worst case scenario…she can’t get over me either. And she’s too prideful to admit it. After all these decades and decades. And after making the promise, in a way, to actually be Brett Ashley.” says Harold.

“So you love Lacey still?” says JD.

“Yeah!!! …She’s her own thing too.” says Harold. “And…I relate to her…sense of fairness and love for God’s beauty. It’s…disturbing. And for good reason. But it’s true.”

“Would she have been your long-term partner?” asks a liberal.

“Yeah.” says Harold. “Sad. Isn’t it?”

“Why not someone else?” asks a liberal.

“Because that’s just not how it worked out.” says Harold.

“So Lem is actually her age? In a way.” says NBC.

“Yeah.” says Harold.

“Lacey. I don’t think you get the point of bragging.” says Casi.

“Yup. That’s what I said.” says Lacey.

“Okay. So…the idea is to…hurt people.” says Casi.

“Huh.

But…

So people notice your blessings without you bragging?” says Lacey.

“You mean me?” says Casi.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

Casi thinks.

“Yeah!” she says.

“Interesting.” says Lacey. “I don’t think they ever notice mine.”

“When you’re not ruthlessly obvious?” says Casi.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“Do they act- Does it get weird?” says Casi.

“Yeah. It’s been very painful at times, possibly.” says Lacey.

“So like…what?” asks Casi.

“When I was in college, there was a young man who had a crush on me- I really am unusually beautiful and attractive and people have found me very arousing possibly both women and men, although I’m only attracted to men and anyway, this young man had a crush on me. And he came from a nice family. His father was a dentist. They were rich but he was abnormally intelligent and he had an IQ about 160 and he also ironically or not or creepily or not will say creepily maybe that’s not the right word, but whatever he had Addison’s disease, and he almost died of it, and his best friend saved his life because he was the only person physically present in the house with him other than a dog when he almost died before he was diagnosed, which is really eerie because he was from Maryland. And his name is Bill.

We had a lot of fun together. He had a very similar sense of humor to me and he could really get me to laugh. We got along very very well. Maybe we’re still acquaintances on Facebook although he forgot my 40th birthday which sort of hurts but whatever maybe you were still vaguely acquaintances, but anyway, he’s married to someone else now they have a kid which brings me to my point.

Well, I was friends with him everyone that I went to school with Casi thought there was something wrong with both of us because he had a genius disorder will say he had a trouble concentrating and actually finishing his assignments on time. He slept a lot he was obsessed with trading this novel based on the old testament.

And it’s sad because I think people thought he was weird professors some other students I think thought he was somehow beneath them. And for further irony he is married to woman who is Ukrainian. Anyway, the point is he was possibly an actual genius like a real one not a fake one like a real one. But that being said he had a hard time finishing college to some degree because he had trouble finishing his assignments and so did I I was worse than him, but he he did seated struggle, and that’s the thing I struggled with my assignments, he struggled with his assignments, and I think the teachers and students thought that there was something wrong with me too, and that I was beneath them. And I think they came to this conclusion that we were both trashy people that he was trashy, and I was trashy, and that we were destined towards this poverty, stricken white trash trailer park future of hopelessness and despair.

He is currently an adjunct professor at one of the most prestigious, Catholic universities, possibly in all the world, and I would bet he will eventually be considered one of the best minds in catholic theology of his generation. If not, if not the best he’ll be considered up there, and in his ability to analyze things, and teach his students, I mean it’s the oldest Catholic university and his part of the country at least I mean it’s it’s a pretty prestigious place that he teaches at and he and he is an adjunct professor. His wife is a doctor and he still is the person that I knew to some degree.

Hi am fairly well-off from an old money family that is not what people expected of me to have. You know a retirement savings and net worth inheritance a stable life so to speak and to be well-off that’s definitely not what people thought but I’ve made people jealous and so is he probably People who look down on us people who probably thought that they were ultimately far superior to us socially and I think that’s what bothers me Casi that’s I can’t remember. I think that I was going somewhere with us and this is where I was going I’m not sure what the actual argument or conclusion that I’m making is but But it’s it’s sort of like how does one deal with that there we go someone’s helping me because people didn’t know that of him they look down on him they truly did from what I remember if I should be less adamant I’m sorry I’m lying but if I ever just got the top of my head, no people thought he was trashy like a Tucker Carlson want to be very white trash and Lowey I know he’s Alien possibly and possibly very well respected and that’s definitely not what people my guess would be expected him to be and no I don’t think they expected me to be married with children. You know in my own house as well off and as stable as I am, I don’t think they expected that either, I don’t think they expected those things of us and that’s what scares me Casi that’s what scares me three if there’s reincarnation Lem’s‘s name was possibly Bill to and it’s just it’s really creepy because it’s like what what is it that’s happening quickly if you’re reincarnated Casi I can’t tell if people know or not if you get an inordinate amount of respect from people socially, I would bet that they do know if there’s reincarnation I don’t necessarily get that I might get the opposite and that’s what baffles me and Anne same thing with Bill and I don’t think we got the respect the one that’s alive if there’s been incarnation, I don’t think and you know really frankly, even if there is reincarnation, yes learn to because he was the emperor of the holy Roman empire And then Jack had him sucking his cock. I mean good God, and he wasn’t even gay at all necessarily, so Len is straight totally fucked up and confused brilliant enough to know who on the sexuality is in the scientific way whether that’s good or bad in a way it is that good because it’s science in someway I would imagine I would hope and that’s the thing so lame was inordinately brilliant in his own way if there’s reincarnation, and he happen to be the emperor, Constantine, and what does he have? He has some jackass from Ireland, shitting all over himself, and his people to subjugate him, and one of the most disgusting ways possible possibly give me God definitely forbid sodomizing a man to bring him beneath you that is definitely not allowed does yellow homosexuality. Well I don’t entirely know but I can tell you that he does not allow sodomizing someone to degrade them that is not allowed Anessa thing, so Jack Kennedy whoever the fuck he even is historically, speaking objectively, sodomized emperor, Constantine, and that America is celebrating it!??

Am I sodomizing know I need actual sodomy, not homosexuality if that’s not him you’re not it if I’ve understood things correctly, Lem’s actually was fucked up in his head and was straight. I had empathy for that. I understand being that complicated and intellectually unusual no, I think it’s remotely possible that he really was that brilliant I mean it that’s the thing if there’s been Carnation, no people didn’t know that they didn’t know that what that lame you know the man following Ron JFK was the emperor of the holy Roman empire that everyone knows in their history books and I know they certainly don’t know that I am Scotia either entirely I feel like people know that more than they knew that line was emperor Constantine if there’s green carnation, I would say that’s a credit to the Middle East that people have some sense of who I am, if there’s reincarnation And I’m Scotia, the thing is though that that isn’t even a necessarily bothers me I am OK with that I am OK with people not understanding ancient Egypt or respecting me for being Scotia if there’s been incarnation duped for the most part because it’s old history right and also I might not see things the way that people do that was a long time ago See you things that people do today.

Are those the thing that I just don’t quite understand bring it back to the present right? What exactly are Bill and I supposed to do whether there’s reincarnation or not people did not know that Bill Ray was going to end up becoming a prestigious professor especially of what he’s a professor of, I think they might have thought he would try history or something and he didn’t, he’s a professor or something very deep will say that the history is in deep but you know I mean it’s anyway the thing is I know if there’s if there’s if there’s reincarnational the further irony is that it seems like hermeneutics professors and people who are philosophers tend to be attracted to me?

But no, they don’t ever seem to recognize who I am. I am not the woman in the Woody Allen film. I don’t think he’s ever captured me particularly well in any of his movies which is maybe a little sad in a way but whatever the point is, maybe he has entirely captured them either but I feel like a couch room room better than me, but anyway, the point is I don’t know maybe he’s never captured bill either but that’s the thing why don’t people understand me and Bill Bill and I why don’t they understand who we are Casi?

Because it’s weird you know if people know that your mother has money or that someone has somebody maybe not that much but you’re not homeless your mother is not home last people can tell that about you. And people can tell that I’m upper class old money to some degree but usually for most people it’s so far in the back of their mind that even if they know that they treat that like it was a reincarnation maybe almost not like an actual physical present reality. And it’s very weird, so so no I I don’t understand the way to breaking because I think in my mind people bragged this is possibly a conclusion I came to, and I was a child because I couldn’t figure out what was going on people bragged because they were standing up for themselves Because no one see what was going on, and they felt like sort of stating their claim in the world in the universe.” says Lacey.

“ why did you think the other people would be doing that?” says Casi.

“ because I couldn’t believe they were being that mean I just I couldn’t believe people were that profoundly heartless.” says Lacey.

Casi opens her mouth and stares.

“ you know most people had someone in their life who actually loves them like somebody or they experience some actual love from someone even if it was like a shitty parents who didn’t raise them well who offered them no home training as my mother used to say that parent might’ve actually given a fuck about them, and expressed that to them in some someway even if the parent was totally insane, they knew that even if their parent was bat shit crazy that they actually gave a shit they just were like the parent from the shining and they were in their right mind or something. I don’t know if your parents that raised you actually cared about you almost at all in any real deep way like it seems like they were more your nannies and they saw you raising you is like a job and they might’ve cared about your humanity to a point, and then that was when it stopped but that’s not the experience most people had, and so you know, figuring out through parenting yourself that your parents didn’t love you yeah they’re very good liars very good at making actual love, but I think in your gut and in your soul, you knew somehow that it wasn’t real and that’s why it seems so heartless to you most people don’t experience it as being quite that heartless.” says Casi.

“ I didn’t figure it out through parenting they’re better than that lying. I figured it out because possibly Lem’s or Louis or someone else was Dad but I’m pretty sure it was. Latin kicked my mother out through me on Christmas Eve and I have possibly not seen her more than for a few seconds ever since.” says Lacey.

“ Tell me the street it was for a fact after you started talking to him and sleeping with him that he used you to kick your mother out and then you figure it out that you didn’t actually give a shit about you, but she was just really good at lying?!?” says Casi.

“ yes yeah yes it was after I started sleeping with him if that’s him and him know he he told me that he did not like her and that was that was the end.” says Lacey.

“ he told you that he didn’t like her???” says Casi.

“Yes!” says Lacey.

“ so he’s the only one that ever had the guts or the insight or ability to make you see how awful your parents really are?” says Casi,

“Yes!” says Lacey.

“ yeah OK but that’s that’s breaking know you know I might not care about you either more than in some weird way or something and that we are just as a human if that’s even something I’m capable of but no yeah that’s breaking and usually for most people, it’s not quite that heartless.” says Casi.

“ so you don’t give a shit about her either Casi!??” says MSNBC, very confused.

“ not necessarily! do you morons actually think things are that good in the world!??” says Casi.

“ yeah we do!” says MSNBC.

“ I think a lot of people think things are better than they are possibly or this is unusually bad situation and that’s what MSNBC can’t understand. This is not an usually bad situation, but they don’t believe bad situations exist because they live in a fairytale land where there’s no Hell and no evil Casi.” says Tucker Carlson. “ how much money is Bill making so to speak ?”

“I would bet that he’s probably in the upper class in his income and that he’ll probably have an inheritance so he probably has a net worth of two or $3 million.” says Lacey.

“do any of the people who look down on the both of you have a net worth of 3 million?” says Tucker Carlson.

“ I would doubt it I would bet they probably have a net worth closer to 2 million maybe there’s a person who has a net worth of three but I would bet it’s closer to two and they’re probably in their 60s at this point 50s or 60s.” says Lacey.

“ yeah you’re right well and that’s including his inheritance but which will be coming up but no he’ll probably inherit what today’s 1.5 million from his mom and dad or 1 million even and then OK so he the point is work with work we’re cutting hairs possibly but no, he loves to say is not worth of, yeah the 2 million or 2.5. He’s not older than 40 yet correct?” says Tucker Carlson.

“ yes that’s correct!” says Lem,

“ we have a problem because if there’s no illuminati, the liberal left has literally destroyed the economy destroy the country, possibly to try to argue assuming that you’re some sort of mascot I don’t even know what they think you’re a mascot of but they’re arguing with you to try to disparage you and make you think that you’re beneath them I don’t know why it means that much to them but that’s what they’ve done for the last eight years destroy the economy all over the world thinking that somehow it makes sense to Satan or bail or something if there’s an illuminati because they can do whatever they want. They are billionaires and that makes them think that they have some moral carte blanche to just totally destroy the world and up and everyone’s life to try to argue with one fucking person who let’s hope they think it’s a mascot. Let’s hope that they’re not such imbecilic, immature, worthless human beings, all of humanity, how is the new on poultry egos that they’re willing to destroy everything with all the power that we’ve accumulated over hundreds of years as a organization to argue with one fucking person who makes them feel insecure in a way that they can’t psychologically look out of because they’re actually inferior to that in every possible way!” yells Tucker Carlson.

“ well, that’s what happened if his blog is real and there’s an illuminati, that’s what happened some dumb ass name. Diego felt sorry for all of his friends are MS, NBC and himself and probably a bunch of other liberal Hollywood elites who harmed children and he thought oh what are the people MS NBC NBC do or not and he thought oh this is my chance to really prove it to them that I am their friend and then I got them and then I’m intellectually superior to them. If not, they’re equal and he really put this person in their place because she bothers me. She reminds me of why I’m not the person that I pretend to be when I walk into Starbucks in the morning and browbeat everyone in front of me and Manhattan oh I have me know my own TV show let me get a latte for free and that’s the problem .

This is that you know what’s really sad is that it doesn’t seem like anyone under the age of 70 realizes how dumb this is, who is not famous, who is famous rather, it seems like everyone who’s in the illuminati who is over the age of 25 and under the age of 70 thinks that this makes sense. How Craft in your heads are you fucking imbeciles this doesn’t make sense there’s no highfalutin intellectual argument that makes sense of everything that you people have done if this is real.” says a psychologist reading.

“ I think Diego may have also been trying to start the end of the world but he’s not here to defend himself so I’m going to just let it go.” says Joy.

“ I think Diego might’ve been trying to start the end of the world that’s my two cents. I sincerely think he really was.” says Mira.

“ yeah, that makes sense to me too.” says Dmitry.

“ oh my God you guys are so naïve I don’t think Diego is quite the knight in shining armor just because he’s a Spanic that you people think he is. If you even think that that’s very woke and upper middle class of you though so congratulations kudos to you.” says Casi.

“ except Casi that is what he said.” says Mira.

“ yeah, it is but people are more complicated than that.

My gut sense is that even if that was a part of it was going on he was also a chauvinistic social climbing bastard.” says Casi.

“ getting back to what I was saying I just wanted to point that out that the liberal media really is a thing and that there’s a problem with journalists in my country I’m controlling the airwaves I mean I don’t have my own show anymore because of it, I might have done things that weren’t appropriate but I would like to point out that would’ve been the reason I was doing them and I don’t think that people with my perspective have as much of a freedom to say what they think as people think they do, we scare you because we’re scared and frankly we’re not the ones that go around shooting people. No I’m sorry Donald Trump was shot up by someone who was very possibly liberal and he was the one who was shot at. We have not thus far try to assassinate any other leaders. There was an insurrection on, but that’s hardly the same thing as sniping down, Barack Obama or Michelle or Kamala I mean we don’t do stuff like that as much as you pretend that we do it and I would like to say in the defensive a lot of conservatives there violent because they feel threatened and also thinking that they’re just stupid mouth breathers maybe you need to step back and analyze yourself and realize that you sound really violent in a way that’s in our heads And suzanne it’s not just about physical space it’s about the entire country is a hole and your inability to stay in your own fucking lane and back the fuck off when you’re told back the fuck off.” says Tucker Carlson.

A man reading nods.

“ so where were you going with us then?” says Lem.

“ that’s no fair enough I’m just trying to say that that you are your mind me myself I feel like I have a laugh like you and I am attracted to women I would say I don’t think I’m bisexual. I think I’m pretty much straight. I think there are some conservatives lame like me who think you really might’ve been straight, I worry that there are some draconian. If I just said liberals, I meant conservatives there could be some draconian conservatives who are a little more so dark in their heart either a worse than me on who I worry have used you and Lacey as like a bludgeoning tool, which there you go to that psychologist, there are some people who know what’s going on possibly but they may be people who are either older than 70 who are very quiet at because they are afraid to be open about how conservative they are, and how much they understand her perspective it’s not as well being conservative, but the eerie truth, Casi in a lot of other people, is it attends to be conservatives I don’t know why it ended up that way unless if you want to say that we are right about everything and you guys are just dead wrong about everything but it does seem like that because I’m willing to extend the belief that aren’t you knows of the olive branch let him on my ship so to speak do you think that he could be he could’ve been straight I know how good actors can be. I’ve been with myself for times and I don’t think you guys understand that if someone really was trying to fool people without realizing that’s what they were doing they could actually fool people.

What I was trying to say is it that’s over dealing with in this country yeah you can hate me. You can hate a lot of other conservatives but keep that in mind. We’re not necessarily the half baked idiots that you think we are. We may actually have a reason for being as angry and self-righteous and disturbed as we are at least an hour all night if you wanna argue with us fine but be careful because we’ve heard a lot of arguments that are deranged and psychopathic over the last, I might even say hundred years and I was I would say most of us are just sick of it. Totally sick of it.” says Tucker Carlson.

“ I might be speaking from the future Lacey got into an argument earlier today with two African-American women who am both of claimed to be really rich and there is elements of racism involved, where it’s like people don’t think they could be that rich I don’t think that was her perspective. I think she thought it was possible to at least theoretically that we both could’ve come from wealthy families, but the issue of racism is obviously very real Lacey you are on a totally different wave length and I just wanna bring this conversation back to you because I’m so fucking sick if there’s an ass, if there’s afterlife if I start reading this, I am so fucking sick of people doing this to her yeah I know I mean people don’t think we can be rich because we’re black and obviously if racism stupid you know that that’s stupid and you don’t get why people could be that dumb it’s just baffling to you. It’s like you can’t believe people could be that dumb are you for real that you really felt like it was that heartless to brag?” says a woman in the future.

“ I think so yes yeah. Yep.” says Lacey.

“ no, it really is. It really is that heartless from your perspective it really is that heartless sweetie. It’s just that bad.” she says.

“ how can you people pretend to care about each other and be that vile?” says Lacey.

“ no actually I think she’s right and I think this is where she’s confused Bill and her really are well off to wealthy and people really did treat them at the side college like they were both fucking backward white trash. Idiots and I would say they are possibly two of the most well-off people from their generation, a lot of other people probably could be making 100,000 less than bill and have a social class of middle class compared to Lacey. They’re not none of them are as wealthy as her and him when you factor everything in I would say there’s no is there at the top of funny that they’re friends if you can even say that but I am I don’t quite get it either because no people didn’t think that of them people thought they should marry each other because they thought they were both losers and they knew that he had a crush on her and they thought oh why doesn’t she just finally settle down and date somebody, but that she didn’t necessarily have those feelings for him and he was not good at talking her into dating. You may not have actually liked her that much in that way, but the point is people were not kind necessarily to them and I don’t think it’s what is literally saying are you she was extraordinarily beautiful. He was somewhat handsome. He was short, and he actually already started balding, and she was extraordinarily beautiful. I know he’s she was out of his league physically speaking she was way out of his league that he could’ve made a plate for her and possibly made it work but he didn’t try that hard. I don’t know that he liked her that much, and he might have, but not as much as I did not as much as I do not as much as a lot of people and a, I think that’s the problem. There’s nothing wrong with falling in love with her it’s not weird and that’s the problem Casi, so Lacey is extravagantly beautiful she really actually is objectively speaking you know she’s not Hispanic. There was a woman who they went to school with who looks like Penelope Cruz, that Lacey is actually better looking than that young woman and Kate from better family was smarter and kinder but people never gave Lacey credit or did they I don’t know maybe they did maybe they didn’t Entirely, but that’s the problem you know you can’t have in the back of your head. Oh this guy is a genius and if you tried hard enough, you could get this extraordinarily beautiful woman in love with him and said it was I bet she’s in love with him you know she’s a white trash ugly fucking nobody with no tits, even though that’s not true, and then it with him it was all he’s a short, you know loser who drinks too much who will never amount to anything and that was simply insane potentially in hindsight, but but that’s what people thought of him and that’s the problem. Oh, what what exactly do you know do you expect them to do? They can’t break she can’t break if she breaks you assume that she’s the most fucking heartless person ever exist even though that’s not even what she thought she was doing necessarily, so what is it that you expect her to do because you put her in the situation in her life where it’s neurotic and she can barely function psychically will say because you people are so fucking backward possibly in some spiritual way rejecting God, rejecting truth rejecting Christ am I emperor Constantine saying that or not the thing is it is Christ he is the king of the universe and what you don’t seem to understand is that you guys actually could be that backward if you’ve all been rejecting him and he’s absolute truth. Maybe you could be making mistakes on a human level that are just as serious as the pollution that you’ve done in the world for the last 50 years.

If that’s not what’s happening then what is it that she supposed to do? Maybe you guys didn’t put her in that position maybe Jack did maybe I accidentally did maybe that her father did too but that’s the problem that is where she’s at so what is it that she supposed to do and why was he so troubled? He is not illegitimate. His parents are not that old. What is it is it they’re high IQ maybe maybe not but I think that’s creepy because I really actually was straight but you assume I was gay Lacey is extremely beautiful. Do you notice that or not he was unusually intelligent and ended up being one of the better off people of his class she’s done fairly well too, how do you not catch up to these things we can’t tell you because you think we’re breaking what if we’re actually just worried because it shouldn’t be that mysterious to people what’s going on?” says Lem.

“ I’ll say this let me you were in a very in a sense experimental relationship with Jack homosexuality wasn’t experimental from a sexual, but it wasn’t something that was legally openly permitted at the time, so I think that’s part of our confusion with you we don’t have decades of experience, analyzing people, historically, or even ourselves to realize that a straight guy could really be that confused Are there other people even in your generation who had a similar experience to you?” says a French man.

“Yes!” says of them.

“ why did you get confused?” asks a Boomer.

“ I was an orphan and I was put in a foster home and I was abused by my foster father and so by the time I was 17 I so I thought it was risqué. I thought it was possibly just some thing that people dead behind closed doors when they were really promiscuous people didn’t realize that it was its own thing I thought it was just a random thing that people might do and then when I was in my 20s or 30s people were saying to me I know this is homosexuality you know I’m a fag and I kind of started to think maybe I am too you know but then I got around to thinking about it and thought I should probably marry a woman because if I’m a fake it then that’s not honorable to marry woman and you know break her heart someday with some man that I meet and so no ad actually in my 60s to Ivy and realize that it wasn’t that that I had just been abused and that I was confused and that it wasn’t a that I was homosexual on a deep level. I never really enjoyed anything being abused. I didn’t realize the complexity of my own mind, and at times I had fool myself into thinking I was in love with some man, but I actually never was I was always just thinking I was, it’s not the kind of joy and happiness that I would’ve had with a wife or that I have a wife. It always felt kind of perverse to me which is where I ended up being kind of like lotta people thought I was a little asexual or pretty neutral maybe because I didn’t really want that sexuality maybe made me uncomfortable and so I was very quiet about it in public but I, I acted gateau from time to time. I think Lacey would’ve known that I was a fake to because she’s very perceptive but and maybe other people were too, but but no, but it’s not. It’s not an impossible thing and I have a feeling there were at least millions of other people throughout history like me alum who were very confused who really were straight no I’ve never enjoyed himself I was never that loved because I was an orphan and so I never develop that strong of a sense of self or I was like I don’t like that so I do like this about certain things and so it took me a while but now with him I was 60 I thought yeah I don’t really like being with it the way that I do with women and do I even like it at all or is it just a stupid thing that actually offends me and I realize it was just something stupid that offended me I had enough sense to realize that you know abusing kids was wrong and I’m not a pedophile I never develops that interest him. I don’t quite by the argument that being abused as a child makes you a pedophile I couldn’t for somebody. Well, that’s a different topic, but I don’t think it’s as likely at least as people think that it is because that’s not what happened to me that didn’t happen to Lacey it didn’t happen to lame. I think for a lot of people they have enough of an understanding of what they experienced and they’re not perverted in that way and so it’s they never it doesn’t affect them that way.” he says.

“ if we were to look at a picture of you, would we think that you were gay?” asks a Boomer.

“ Lacey would not. I honestly think some people like Tucker. Carlson are getting smarter about it and they probably wouldn’t either but there are a lot of stubborn liberals who want to think it’s obvious somehow in some obnoxiously simplistic way it’s not all I would bet that a lot of you would think I was gay yes I mean I acted gay I thought I was gay or did I actually look gay was about to have seriously you take Lacey‘s opinion she would say no if she felt the freedom to say that.” he says.

“ what word Faye Emerson say?” says a Nritish woman.

“ I would say that he makes me uneasy that there’s something a little scary about him, and that it would probably be that I would be afraid he would attack me sexually, which is a crazy a lot of those men might be very sexually repressed, and so under the right circumstances, there a powder keg and then you have to hope that nothing would happen when was a gentleman and very good person and he never attacked anybody. I know I don’t think that that was why he went along with rejected, but it could be subconsciously part of his confusion, and not realizing that that wasn’t normal to have that amount of desire for women constantly bother you all the time.

But I would’ve seen this man and thought I don’t wanna be alone with him because he kind of scares me a little bit. I bet Lacey may or may not have thought that I have a feeling she thinks more like him and they would’ve just been friends I’m not his friend and so for me being alone with him. No I would’ve thought there was some thing a little a little scary about it I might not have no in the way that Lacey does that he was straight and be like this man street because I’m not necessarily a smart as her or is her whatever that is, I just intelligence to know I might not realize that he was straight and that’s why he was scaring me, but he would’ve scared me and I had other gay friends, so no I would not have thought that he was a typical gay man, but I wouldn’t necessarily know why.” says Fay Emerson.

“ I don’t think Lem is as convincingly gay as we think he is and that’s historical fact.” says Tucker Carlson.

“ so we were think you were gay, but Lacey be able to point out she was possibly by circling purse of your body in all seriousness, potentially in a like light years away from a scientific way that out how you were actually straight ?” says a perfume collector.

“ yes .” he says.

“ are there guys like you today or not as much?” asks the CIA.

“ not as much there are people who think that they’re gay and they’re not maybe more of that today then there wasn’t a pass but they’re either bisexual or they’re just confused, but they’re different than lemonade lemonade legitimate legitimate we were were since I want to say very sincerely confused men today who are confused I’m not sure if it’s that they think they’re cooler when they’re gay or if they’re trying to fit in with people or if it’s like there’s some other problem where they’re not aware of themselves enough don’t have a strong enough sense of self or some thing or if they’re not loved but then I’m not sure that’s quite the same thing. Let me know if you’re sexually abused and got very confused that’s different. These people might’ve experimented out of curiosity and might not realize, what they want or who they are I think there could be a number of people who really don’t know that just because it’s cool to do. Some thing doesn’t mean that it’s right for you.” he says.

“ but you guys think like her though.” says the perfume collector.

“ are you worried that we don’t know how you people think? “ he says.

“ yes !” says Ashley Olsen.

“ you know I bet we do more than that but I have a feeling there could be some discrepancy or some disparity. She does think like us that’s pretty well documented in her own mind and hopefully in reality in someway that could be scientifically observed she really is psychologically wired like the greatest generation whether that’s biological because her father was born in 1894 or something else you’ll have to research more, but that is the way she thinks that is who she is and that’s just how she functions. It’s not a desire on her part entirely. If it is at all, it’s who she is it’s possible that if she’s a legitimate, she really wasn’t able to develop into the person into the person that who would be able to relate to people I think that she feels sad about that and that’s part of the reason why she thinks that she’ll never get married to anybody because to be honest with you. Mom does look different. I did a lot of our generation dead and she has slept with them. They actually have slept together frequently for the last three years every week if not every day practically and so that’s the problem that’s a 3+ your relationship and they’re very sexually intertwined at this point and I don’t think that works because he really is her ideal. Those men always were she was that they were physically what she wanted. You know they do look different their bone structures different their faces are different, and it’s not just men from the past because she finds over the past attractive there’s something specifically about the greatest generation men that just they really float her boat. I know there are some men from the silent generation like Michael, and some men from the brightest the gray know the bright young things the lost generation is your fans attractive like F Scott Fitzgerald, and Harrell lope so I suppose she could go a little out of that, but I don’t think anybody would be a few other men to like her ex-husband, who who she finds attractive but I don’t think they were ever quite her ideal Lemus her ideal now and I would say men from that generation physically really are her ideal so it’s basically impossible for her now because she’s got into a relationship with a man who’s how would you tell her way from him but he’s her absolute ideal. There’s nobody physically alive, who can compare to him even top models in rugby stars in the Olympics, are childlike in her estimation, compared to Lem.” says the man.

“ they look childlike!??” says Casi.

“ yes they look childlike. He doesn’t look fatherly to her. He looks very sexually desirable lap. He doesn’t look grandfathers or her now you might wonder did she request this is ours no I don’t think so. I think it was very confusing to her times but not really she’s very intelligent, so I think she just thought those men are good looking but someday young man in my generation will be just as good looking as that they just haven’t given been given a chance yet to grow grow into it you know I’ll give them another 10 years and they look like that too.” he says.

“ and they don’t?” says the CIA.

“ no they don’t we do look different. She looks different people find her attractive, but not as attractive as they find her my generation, and it works both ways she finds us more attractive. Then she finds you just as we find her more attractive than we find any other woman alive today for the most part and really, that would probably be why men are just like arousing intrigued, but it doesn’t ever really take off because she’s been harassed, prepare and set her up for absolute failure in life and that way I know I am there might’ve been a few men who genetically were viable, but it just never took off and so now she is stuck with me for eternity, and extremely happy about it as my but there’s a problem if there’s no illuminati because I am real and she’s sleeping with me and with me, hoping that God doesn’t send her to hell.” says Lem.

“ does she pray about that like every day?” says a Millennial woman.

“ yes she does. She asks God to forgive her for that every day.” says Lem.

“ well, if you were straight, who is sexuality is allowed to heaven, I think it’s very nice of God to try through this blog to explain to us that if it’s alone have any doesn’t hate us he simply is trying to warn us that we’re not him we don’t have divine understanding of everything and it’s possible that there are some things that we just don’t know because we’re human and we’re flawed and maybe we don’t know everyone from history does it hurt Lacey that we focused on let him be in love and not Jack?” says an openly gay actor.

“ it feels personal it feels like a personal attack. It’s like oh really so you know Linn was straight but you were just gonna pretend for the next 40 years like he was gay for what purpose do you mean to me? Why do you hate me that much!?” says Lacey.

“ I don’t think I would do that as much as I don’t like you necessarily I don’t think I would do that.

I actually find that really offensive that people assume that about anyone possibly but if Linn was straight and he’s been sleeping with you I don’t think he was gay and I certainly don’t think he is now if that’s him and I think it’s really gross of people to assume that he was if they were if they’re reading this blog if they take you seriously at all I think it’s offensive.

That being said, you know, I’m gonna like a man fend for themselves. I kind of think they’re trying to insult you if there’s reincarnational I am I I am personally offended now to because I don’t get it either. Why can’t you just leave her alone and let her be happy. Why can’t you just admit that you guys look a jack looks gay I am is it about how big one is like? Are you all insecure about how small you are physically is Matt I don’t even know if that’s necessarily accurate. I have a feeling there’s been men who are big who look gay throughout history Lem’s is just not gay. He’s not a gay man. He doesn’t look at his particular type of man isn’t gay, and so there could be some men who are big who look gay but there could be an insecurity there on their part about that and that’s just stupid. Also, I only think there are three genders. I don’t think there’s more than that and I think people get confused I just wanted to say that because it’s getting stupid.

Have you have a sexuality isn’t even a thing, but I honestly don’t think that lame had that disorder. If if you know when it look at like autism or something work other disorders, I don’t think he had that disorder. If it’s a disorder, I think he was probably just straight OK?

Getting back to this other topic, though, which is sort of how this whole thing came out the whole thing with Lem’s is fascinating. We can talk about that all day you know it’s it’s fascinating but I have a feeling he was straight. I have a feeling he straight now or at least he’s in a straight committed relationship For eternity so let’s just leave that one alone for now because it’s sort of a moot point because he’s with a woman and I have a feeling as a turtle so let’s just leave that one on the back burner for now we get back to it like a man defend themselves. I am I want to talk about this issue a bill and what the hell that all is because that actually does confuse me and bother me, I think we’re more vicious generation than her generation was I think we are more heartless and cutthroat. I don’t think we’re as nice as you people were don’t think we’re as loving or as well bred I think that were a far more crass, uptight, cruel generation than hers was, I mean can you seriously CR our generation inventing barbecue no we invent raw who’d that’s upsetting to your stomach to eat.

Do you know whether we have some redeeming quality along with her cruelty or not? I don’t know, but we are a cruel generation, in a way that I don’t think she is on which is concerning to me is survival of the fittest, overpopulation global warming may be a such as narcissism. Maybe were actually getting meaner?

But then that’s the problem why do you guys not know what’s going on assuming this man actually exist and I have to think he does why did no one know what was going on with him and Lacey? Why did no one pick up on the fact that he was going to end up being a rich, white privileged man at a prestigious university, why didn’t no one realize that she was going to end up being alone and in love with if there’s reincarnation the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, those are concerning things to me because you were mean to her and you were you were mean to him too it seems like possibly but they’re like way above you in the end they may have even been at the time How did we not know that because obviously we alienated her I have a feeling we probably might’ve alienated him as well. I have a feeling we’ve alienated a lot of people, Donald Trump and Tucker Carlson I didn’t somebody really need it I think a lot of people are alienated who end up, amassing some sort of money or power at this point and why did you do that is getting back to my last point a part of me and some sad Human Waze looking at her phone in the world as I worry Lacey and I worry all of you that it’s part of global warming that is part of our overpopulation that mother nature itself has course to people to be overconfidence to to somehow kill off like millions of you because things are getting too fucked up and so she’s like I got to get rid of the species. What if I turn it against itself, what’s the hot button issue? Oh class issues did she get a real bright idea and think this will work if I can play it right did she somehow get people to antagonize her and Donald Trump and other people to somehow get us to sort of start killing off other people who may or may not be as fat as us if Donald Trump really is a nice person, what is he actually is better than most of you for real?

Yeah, what is his daughter smarter than most of you and prettier? What if Lacey‘s better than most if you what if I am better than a lot of people and that’s why I’m on this block it’s just a question and it scares me because if there’s any sort of humanity to me at all that’s not hateful, I do worry that we are destroying ourselves and I would like to think that you could at least get some awareness of the fact that you’ve overly antagonized a hell of a lot of people at this point and I things are getting really fucked up so I just wanna know why did why did you guys reject her? Why did you reject? I’m gonna call her bum why did you were jack slim see that still that’s still a hop on issue you know what if there’s ring carnation I bet you think I am an Italian aristocrat and I bet you that’s part of the reason why I am on this block and I bet you that’s part of the reason why I was coerced to attack her more, because what if I attacked her mother nature knows about reincarnation somehow she observes she’s been around a while so if there’s reincarnations, she still knows that even if Christians don’t anymore and so if I am in Italian aristocrat, I attacked Lacey because she knew that what it would be a huge problem for all y’all Have you had a pandemic we’re having a war I think she’s done pretty dang well it’s not as well as maybe she’d hoped but it’s a little relief it’s better than nothing I mean what she’s killed off like roughly 25% of the population one percent the population by attacking Lacey that’s a sizable number by just attacking one person And when I am in pain 1% relief is better than nothing. I mean it’s like give me that one percent it’s like I have a feeling she’s hoping it’s going to turn into white 50% I mean where is this going? Is she going to try to start a nuclear war with North Korea? Is that what she’s calculating right now but she doesn’t wanna like totally fuck herself over so she’s thinking I’m gonna start a war with Russia and North Korea and kill off like 3 billion people but I better be careful about it because I don’t wanna kill off all of them just 3 billion?

And then no I mean it’s sick. Your kids are being molested and it’s being celebrated which is also part of the reason why attacking her might’ve made so much sense in mother nature knows how much she loves her kids. If there’s reincarnations I mean, she still loves England Tom could easily have been a pharaoh I mean come on it goes deep and so why do you need to knows that and thought shit but this woman really loves her kids if I get her in 30 that could really work out well for me I think she would a little too far because I have a feeling Lacey really does want to just add the entire thing at this point which is mother nature almost committing suicide, so if there’s a incarnation Pray pray because I don’t know if God re-create the earth or he restores it somehow but I feel bad because it I think I think so I think your mother nature is in pain and she’s trying to fix it and I just I guess just answer my question what happened a detailed, logistical level how did you miss the fact that she was going to go home with no degree Mary, rich, and end up if there is an illuminati secretly running the world with Tucker Carlson And how did you miss the fact that Bill was like a super genius who was going to end up passing and getting a degree spending 10 years sorting himself out and if he didn’t kill himself was probably gonna end up doing what something pretty prestigious, or at least somewhat nice and most likely if he was smart enough and could get the job done enough what he’s doing being a professor at some university writing some great book getting his PhD in writing a great piece of literature I mean I have a feeling he’s unusually intelligent, so if he could graduate And push himself and he’s a man he comes from Wells hello how did no one pick up on that stuff? Is it the Kennedys are they are they that awful and that much of a problem that they brainwashed America into thinking that old money wasn’t a thing or what was it Would your ancestors have thought Lacey is way too comfortable not going to class how do you know I’m not dumb enough to think that a woman necessarily is always as aware of things as a matter is, I’m just being real with you could she actually be a little ditzy and not realize that in the back of her head she’s not gay, she’s not hateful she’s not stupid she’s not processing something else. I want to ask Lacey a question because I’m gonna have to let this go. I can sense that I need to possibly and possibly not pass. I’m saying this in the future did you wear Marc Jacobs Marc Jacobs to class, did you wear that perfume to class?” says Casi.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“ OK that’s a huge lakes me not for myself but fruit from just trying to figure other people out so you were $150 bottle of perfume when you were in college and you worked at the library?” says Casi.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“ did she look aristocratic?” says Casi to Messiah College.

“ yes .” says someone.

Casi nods. “ did you insult her background?”

“ yes.” admits a woman.

“ what handbags did you carry? “ asks Casi.

“ oh just it was pretty much just cheap stuff. Like just cheap stuff. It was cheap I need it was like just cheap stuff. “ says Lacey.

“ where was your coat from?” asks Casi.

“ banana republic.” says Lacey.

“ shit.” says Casi. “ but I bet she seemed like really like me and poor and her and her attitude even though it wasn’t like actually meek and poor that was her attitude wasn’t about herself?”

“ yes .” says a woman.

Casi nods. “ but then the obvious social cues were that she came from money, but she didn’t have her own car except she was from Minnesota but the way she dressed how much do you think she was spending on her clothes and hair and make up and stuff ?” says Casi.

“ oh $1000?” says a woman.

Casi nods. “ I can almost guarantee you. It was closer to four or 5000 every year two years I don’t think she knew the right social cues to indicate to you guys that she was from a nice background but I think your people I am I’m trying to figure this out and fascinates me because now I bet she spent closer to two or 3000 a year.”

“ or five or six, and I helped pay it off.” says Lacey’s mother who raised her.

“ where it where does this goes in Casi?” asks Dr. Harles.

“ oh, it’s just it’s simply that you should’ve realize it was going on and yet you didn’t add a smart and educated as you all pretend to be pretend to be I would like to know why no one realize it was actually happening did you people think that she was an idiot like a real idiot who didn’t understand that you had to pay off credit cards?” says Casi.

“ oh, please don’t tell me you guys like that please don’t tell me you thought that please don’t tell me you thought that.” says Bill.

“ yeah yeah we did. We thought that possibly.” they say.

“ how could she have been at your school and have been as smart as she was and have been that stupid at the same time? Did you think that she was smart?” says Casi.

“ smart enough to go to the side college, which could mean that she didn’t have a learning disability no I would think that she was average to slightly above average in her intelligence, at least .” they say.

“ then how could she have been that stupid that doesn’t make sense.” says Casi.

“ I think we told her selves that she was an idiot because it was more comforting than thinking that she could actually buy all that stuff .” they say.

“ or was it something else? We really need you guys to try to tell us because if you were comforted by that that’s very disturbing but that takes things in one direction if it was something else you need to tell us because it’s very upsetting.” says the CIA.

“ honestly, I don’t know I think we did think she was that smart. I worrythat it was comforting to us for some reason Casi.” they say.

Later.

“ so you didn’t grow up in a wealthy house.” says the CIA.

“ that’s correct!” says Lacey.

“ is there anything else about you? Other than those bullshit things that people can lie about easily that are actually very upper middle class in bourgeois that doesn’t fit with being old money?” asks an Englishwoman.

“ no .” says Lacey. “ I really don’t think so. No.”

“ you know, I just want to say her father married a man or a woman excuse me, who am was who whose sister is married to a man who is a millionaire, and he’s a huge supporter of mine. He has a speech C, and that woman married her father, partially possibly because of the money he had, and the social status he has in his family, he lies about that whole family lies about that to some degree.

Lacey. Why?” asks Donald Trump.

“She was hoping you would know.” says Lem.

“Well what are your theories?” says Lacey.

“ I think part of the problem is that we’re having a very convoluted problem right now there’s a difference between being actual old money, which is what my family is most likely, and being all the money in your aesthetic, being old money in a way that people would be aware of and that you would be aware of yourself they are not old money in a way that they would be aware of. They would never call themselves that I called them that maybe that’s all that it is there could be some people who lie and then there could be some people who just have never thought to call themselves that and then there could be some people who just would never remotely even consider it. “ says Lacey.

“ let’s talk it with people who would never remotely consider it.” says the CIA.

“ they do own a hell of a lot of well just keep that in mind that’s facts.” says Donald Trump.

“ OK no it’s talk about that but why don’t you consider what I’m saying for once like I am not a fucking idiot.” says Lem. “ or a top-secret super genius.”

Bill laughs. His wife nods.

“ yeah this is far more intellectual comp complex that people are willing to go to play right now and it’s disrespectful to the entire intellectual establishment in the US so the CIA wants to have an actual conversation with her. They can do that but they need to stop kissing Bobby’s ass and sucking his cock. Thanks!” says Harvard.

Later.

“ so you read Peter Teal is gay or bisexual, even though he looks so much straight and how he presents himself he doesn’t do the gay thing with his eyes that lamb dead, or his lips the way that lamb dead at least not voluntarily but we have so bullied you and brainwashed you that you feel the need empathetically compassionately Wonder if lemon is still gay even though you’re married to him your kids know about him your kids seem like him. God has possibly told you dozens of times that you’re spending eternity with but you really think that maybe we have something that we’re trying to tell you are we taking advantage of your maternal instinct?” says Peter Thiel.

“ add up you know if you are I am not I’m not able to say that .” says Lacey.

Peter smiles.

“ so you don’t find me attractive?” says Peter.

“ no, I do not.” says Lacey.

He nods.

“ what about Roc Hudson?” he says.

“ no no I just sent him attractive .” says Lacey.

Ashley Olsen laughs.

Peter nods.

“ but you find Michael Rockefeller attractive.” he says.

“ didn’t he date women though that he was probably attracted to.” says Lacey.

“you know he probably did but I feel like you’re upstairs in there with yourself. What would you said if you weren’t trying to empathize with yourself?” says Peter.

“ oh I’m sorry I would’ve said I’m sorry I don’t know. I don’t think Lem’s gay.” says Lacey.

“ you’re very good looking.” says Peter Thiel.

“ you know I am actually factually speaking yes.” says Lacey.

“ why don’t you think Lem’s is gay?” says Peter.

“ well, you know I have it’s just, you know. You know they’re there a series one might have.” says Lacey.

“ You’re selling me on the Siri that you were actually Tom’s daughter right now more than anything I don’t think if there’s a little Maddie this year has ever looked into it and obviously if there isn’t an illuminati, nobody has an any real legal binding authentic way I don’t think if there is an illuminati that anyone’s ever really thought to or realize how serious it is, which is actually very disturbing to me but I wonder if you really are you realize what you’re saying doesn’t make any sense, right?“ says Peter.

“ not really no no no no no I just switched my brain a little bit and now I know what you’re talking about some mostly at least put a really being myself. No no I don’t I don’t. What are you talking about?” says Lacey.

“ Lacey why don’t you think Lem is gay?” says Peter.

“ right people to sleep together you know I suppose it doesn’t mean anything but what I know from sex and what I about sex and what I know from sexual experiences that I’ve had it would suggest that Lem’s not gay.” says Lacey.

“ so you’ve slept with him?” asks Peter.

“ I am well if there are ghosts that exist it would seem so yes, quite often.” says Lacey.

“ what’s he like in bed?“ says another gay man.

“ yeah it was that I would say he’s very in love I don’t think it’s appropriate or really even necessary for me to discuss this further with you in detail I think that’s very offensive in a way I don’t appreciate it.

That being said, oh no, he’s very good he’s very good if you’re looking for expertise, nobody tops Elliot Roosevelt best far, but I am sure that in time Elliot will be topped and I do not mean that as a euphemism for anything of that sort I’m just saying in time I am quite sure that long will be better than Elliot, but at the moment at Elliot surpasses anyone that I’ve ever been with ever.” says Lacey.

“ i’m gonna stop patronizing you because it makes me look like an idiot. I don’t think you’re lying necessarily but it’s very hard for me to except what the fuck is going on!??” says Peter Thiel.

Later.

So…by your definition…Nils and Gunhild…were not born poor. At least not poor in the way a poor American Southern would be.” says an Old Money man.

Lacey thinks.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“What was their poverty like in Norway?” he asks.

“Nils had a father who was a math tutor. He skied too much, however, and exhausted himself. He died of pneumonia at 35. Nils had an old brother who inherited the land. So Nils left for America at 17? 18? …They were called poor. However, his nephew was a professor.” says Lacey.

“And they owned the land.” says the man.

“Some, yes.” says Lacey.

He rolls his eyes. “Was there a house!?”

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“How many rooms?” he says.

“Four separate rooms.” says Nils.

“This is late 18’s rural Norway!?” he says.

“Yes!” says Lacey.

“That’s not a jive a nice house. That’s a decent house. A living-room. A kitchen. Two bed rooms?”

“Yes!” says Nils. “We ate in the kitchen.”

“How many square feet?” he says.

“3,000.” says Nils.

“Are you being serious!??” says the man.

“Are you?” says Nils. “This is all bullshit!”

“He’s right.” says Peter Thiel.

“2,000?” says Nils. “We were middle class.”

“So you’re mother was struggling though?” he says.

“Yes. But we had a farm!” says Nils.

“So Gunhild was more well off?” he says.

“Yes! She came to America to travel.” says Nils. “Really.”

“Why did she stay?” asks an Old Money young woman.

“Because I got tons of land. For cheap! …And I was heartbroken. My boyfriend had married someone else.” says Gunhild. “This distracted me.”

“You sound rich.” says Casi. “Were you?”

“We were middle to upper middle class.” says Gunhild. “Class in Norway is and was complicated. …Maybe we were rich.”

“Okay! So you were rich?” says the Old Money man.

“Maybe. In a way.” says Gunhild. “I had my own money. …But…

Yeah. We were upper middle class in America in 2010. … How about that!?”

“So…when did you and Nils become rich?” says Donald Trump.

“1950?” she says. “We built a nice house in 1929. And Lacey thinks we were rich in the 1920’s. But I say 1950.”

Donald Trump laughs.

“What was the Great Depression like?” asks Donald Trump.

“How nice!?” says a Wisconsin farmer.

“New. Nice. Bigger than most.” says Gunhild. “But not huge.”

“How many rooms?” asks a reader.

“Four bedrooms. A small room that was big enough for my weave loom. A large kitchen. A living room. And a bathroom.” says Gunhild. “We ate in the kitchen. But there was a dining room.”

“So you were kinda rich.” says Donald Trump.

Gunhild thinks. “We had $400,000. In land and implements. And our house. In 1950.”

“Really!?!” says the Old Money man.

“Well…1960. She might have just misheard me.” says Gunhild.

“Okay.” says Trump. “How much did you have in 1928?”

“In Saint Paul that house would cost $1. million or so. In a good neighborhood.” says Gunhild.

“So these are big rooms?” says a woman.

The Old Money man winces and nods his head yes.

“Yes.” says Gunhild.

“So did you have a fireplace?” asks a woman.

“No!” says Gunhild.

“So how wealthy were you in the 1920’s?” asks the Old Money man.

“$100,000.” says Gunhild. “In 1928.”

“So $2 million as your net worth today? In 1928.” says a man.

“Yes! …We were doing well.” says Gunhild.

“And then you lost that?” says Trump.

“No! But it was worth far less with the Dust Bowl. I almost wanted to leave.” says Gunhild. “Nils wouldn’t let me. And yes, the land was worth less after the crash. Or so Lacey thinks I’m saying. It wasn’t worthless. But it was worth less.”

“So you were today’s millionaires. By the late 20’s.” says a woman.

“Yes.” says Gunhild. “We were well off eventually. But…a lot of that was in land. We did make about $40,000 one year in the 1960’s though.”

“Wow!” says a man.

“Yeah. We invested.” says Gunhild.

“How much was the farm worth before the oil?” asks a man.

“$1.3 million in 1983.” says Gunhild, laughing. “These numbers might be a bit off. They could be higher and lower. I’m hard to hear.”

“$26 million!?” says a man.

“We had thousands of acres of land.” says Gunhild.

“I’d have said $12 million.” says Lacey.

“You might be right.” says Gunhild.

The Old Money man laughs.

“But basically you were rich. And since you came from some noteworthy wealth…and Nils had some middle class background…and your kids kept the wealth going…it looks to Lacey like you essentially are Old Money.” says the Old Money man.

“Yes. Or Old Money isn’t a class. Right? It’s a group of people. From a specific time and place.” says Lacey. “And it’s unclear how genetically or aesthetically elite you even are.”

“I was Old Money by any definition.” says Tom Banks. “Or no? Let’s say I descended from New Amsterdam. …That doesn’t count? Because I was from a merchant Nebraska family? …No? See…that becomes stupid.”

“Okay. So…why…did they maintain their wealth if it wasn’t just financial wisdom?” says the Old Money man.

“A feeling of ownership about our land.” says Gunhild.

“So…you feel they saw things differently?” says the man.

“Yes.” says Gunhild. “All of our sons felt…lordly.”

“So…they were expected to be millionaires.” says Trump.

“Yes. Possibly.” says Gunhild.

“But not as social progress? Or yes?” says Trump.

“No! More a feeling of…making it. Not being…impoverished. …Nils felt impoverished growing-up. And I felt like we were doing well.” says Gunhild.

“So! I think unless if Old Money is absurdly specific…they’re Old Money.” says Bill.

“Yeah. I mean how much counts? What Dollar amount is Old Money?” says Devin.

“Or how old?” says Bill.

“Yeah. It becomes arbitrary.” says the Old Money man.

“So!?” says Devin.

“$100 million.” says the Old Money man.

“Why!?” says Devin.

“Yeah. That’s arbitrary.” he admits.

“Her definition is great. What’s wrong with it? That she’s included?” says Devin.

“When does generational wealth become Old Money?” he says.

“When they become psychologically part of the class.” says Lacey.

“Crap.” he says. “It is a way of seeing things. Gunhild was your family what’s considered Old Money in America?” he asks.

“Yes. In a way.” says Gunhild.

“You were a Republican?” he says.

“Yes.” says Gunhild.

“Is it easier to become Old Money in the Republican Party?” he asks.

“Yes.” says Gunhild.

“So…it’s having generational wealth. Notable prestige. And…being…somehow upper class.” says the CIA.

“They are Old Money.” says Lem.

“But being worth $1.8 million by 45 is MIDDLE CLASS. According to me.” says the Old Money man.

“Then your opinion is shit.” says Lem.

“Hey! Wanna know what else!? Her family is far more historically prestigious than yours IN NORWAY!” says Lem.

“Yeah. We never lived in Norway.” he says.

“THAT IS DUMB. GROW-UP!” says Lem.

“Why can’t she talk like that if she’s worth a damn!?” yells JFK.

Her kids have been loudly yelling for a few minutes. It’s getting weird.

“Because she doesn’t trust you. And she’s more laid back. And contemplative.” says Lem.

“So Old Money is generational wealth that has a patina. And-“ he says.

“FUCK YOU!!!” yells Lem. “I STRAIGHT!! And you ASSHOLES…are OBNOXIOUS. How many hours have you wasted!? Of my children’s time. TO DO WHAT!?”

“Old Money is a specific group of people. Not billionaires. Not millionaires. Not anyone who’s not from the original American families. And was worth $200 million or so by 1920. They can be poor now…who cares. They’re still Old Money. Which means…not that I’m full of shit…but that I’m still right…and…that Old Money doesn’t exist.” he says.

“I think something does. I’ll invent my own name. …But I’m definitely that.” says Lacey.

“I Can’t Stand It” by Lem

(July 26th, 2024 – Early Morning)

My most famous quotation? You’ve misunderstood it. And…I’m livid.

See…you’re supposed to view what I said through the eyes of the culture in which I said it. And you’ve gotten it all monstrously wrong now for decades. It’s a sin whoever first intentionally misunderstood it and led everyone else astray. They knew you’d believe them and not get it. And that was far more sinister than they’d ever admit to…or possibly than they understood.

Let’s analyze it.

“You know Jack made a big difference in my life.”

Wow! That’s a bold statement. I sound incredibly in love, possibly. …In 1981 or 1979 or whenever I said this people would have leapt at the thought that I might be saying I had been in love with Jack. That first sentence is a huge deal. I really leading you into a bold statement potentially. Hold…on…to…your…hats!

But then…I continue. Hmm.

“Thanks to him I was never lonely.”

…Okay. That’s…really bold. …Wow. Hmm. Back then that was really bold. …And one wonders where it’s going. Because…people didn’t say stuff like this. I was making a huge statement. …Or was I? I mean…it’s almost getting too bold. …And then I drop the bomb.

“I mean…I could of had a wife and family, but what the Hell.”

…Ahh…you have to realize I wasn’t out. I was not out of the closet. I repeat: I was NOT out of the closet.

I repeat: I WAS NOT OUT OF THE CLOSET.

So…you can’t interpret it through that lens. …And that’s a mistake you Princeton University educated Gen. Z gay men have made within the last ten years. It’s embarrassing. And pathetic.

It all makes me very sad.

It’s one of the reasons Lacey thinks Ivy League schools are suspicious.

…So…you have to realize…I wasn’t out of the closet. And that means you can’t take it that way. You have to force your brain to stop thinking that I was openly gay or you’ll never get what I mean or the actual nuance of what I’m saying. …And you can’t assume I could not have had a wife and family. …People back then would never have assumed that I couldn’t have had one. Why!? There was no good reason. I had perfect functioning penis. …And if I said I could have one…then you’d have to assume back then that I meant it. Men were given respect back then. You didn’t automatically doubt everything people said. …People were taken seriously back then. …At least to some degree. Okay!? …I mean come on!

So…because I wasn’t out of the closet…and I am saying I could have…you have to at least try to take me seriously. You can’t open and shut assume I’m talking about closeted homosexuals. How could I be!?! I AM STILL CLOSETED. Gay men’s magazines that miss that intellectual nuance, we’ll call it…are dumb. They are the stuffy ones nowadays in society. They are the uptight ones. …And they presume far too much.

…So…let’s continue. I’m claiming all of the sudden…that I could have had a wife and family. Wow. Okay. Well…that’s sad.

Why is it sad? Because…I’m probably in my 50’s or 60’s saying this. And I’m living alone. …For a man who’s in his 50’s or 60’s to say, “I mean I could have had a wife and family.” is…pathetic. …I sound pathetic. …Men used to say stuff like that when they were “down.” They used to call it being “down.” And “down” meant that I was “in the dumps.” And “down” and “in the dumps” means that I was very depressed. Drinking, drug addiction. Suicidal thoughts. Possible promiscuity or anxiety to the point where you’d sit alone in your house all day. Possible sadness to the point where you’d sit alone all day. Starring at a television. Wondering what you’re living for. …Or maybe no sex at all. Maybe just…coffee…drugs…cigarettes…and take-out.

See. Even reading this you have to put it in it’s honest, proper context. *wink* …Am I a ghost? Hmm. Yeah…I’m claiming to be. But you’re supposed to have an adult mind if you’re an adult and be able to sort that out regardless. You know? …It’s all that kind of thing.

…So…I go from saying all this…edge-of-your-seat stuff about Jack. Fond, schmaltzy stuff. …To saying…”I mean I could have had a wife and family but what the hell!” …Why did I need to add that!? That’s…abrasive. I’m not out the closet. Okay!? Remember!? …And so…adding that makes no sense. …I’m NOT OUT OF THE CLOSET. It sounds…like I’m…in serious depression. And I’m starting to “flip-out” publicly. “Flipping out” means being to openly emotional for public. …No! I’m NOT making a statement about homosexual marriage! HOW COULD I BE!?!? I WAS NEVER OUT!!!! …What I’m doing is bemoaning my fucked-up life sharply after going on and on about how much Jack meant to me. It’s twist!

…But I don’t stop even there. I could have. And you’d have been grappling with what I meant forever. Was I sad? Was I happy? …What did I even mean!? …But no. I keep talking. And I add it on to “I mean I could have had a wife and family, but what the hell.”

I say, “What would have made me a happier life!?”

Happier? Yeah. I’m sad. I’m pathetically sad. I’m actually subtly bringing up the topic of happiness. It’s the elephant in the room back then. Why I never married bothered people. And let me remind you again: I WAS NOT OPENLY GAY. It was NOT to be understood that I was gay. It was not to be understood that I was talking about homosexuality at all necessarily. …Not necessarily at all.

So…what would have made me a happier life!?! Let me remind you that people thought, sincerely thought, getting married and settling down and having a family was the best thing anyone could ever do. Ever! We based our entire conversation as a culture on that premise. We lived and died on that premise. …SO…keep that in mind. And yet again, NO I’m not openly gay. I’m not saying I’m happy I didn’t get married. That’s LUDICROUS! …I could potentially be hinting at that. But you’d have to think that I’m hinting at that because of what I said in context. …And maybe that’s actually impossible. Let’s keep going.

…“…to be Jack Kennedy’s best friend…”

Hmm. Remember I’m not out. …So…what the hell do I mean by best friend? Well…I could easily mean a mere best…friend. …That’s already a shit life. …Giving up sex with a woman!?! Giving up kids!? To be someone’s BEST FRIEND!? Yuck. …That’s disgusting. …We could easily end this analysis here but because people today are so naive, and sheltered, and dumb, and gross, and self-serving, and hateful and rude and cold and dangerous and…uneducated and ignorant….we’ll continue.

…My family did complain to me frequently about my life. Don’t forget that. Their complaints often were on my mind.

So…it’s not lookin’ too good. However…maybe I was gay? …That’s what someone might have been thinking. They might have been hopeful I was just gay. And by “best friend” I meant something else. But you have to keep listening at the time to know for sure as I’m saying this. Because I’m not out. I’m not open. I DO NOT DISCUSS MY SEXUALITY. …And that’s true enough. It’s on Wikipedia. …I did not discuss it. …So…that means that I didn’t discuss it. I never said, “I’m gay.” in any way openly. To anyone. And if I did at all I was not going on about it. At all. I did not EVER give almost anyone or possibly anyone the impression truly openly or clearly that I was gay with the subtextual meaning that it was to be henceforth known between us…and if I did accidentally even I was not…in a good place with that being considered in any subtextual understanding between me and other people. …So…if you were listening at this point you’d have to be…gay…and happy with being gay in your mind….to be…hoping I was saying something happy. Because it sounds like I’m extremely depressed. …And I don’t think most people at that time would have thought I was saying something secretly “pro-gay” unless they were gay themselves. Maybe you could have been a closeted homosexual and hoped I was secretly saying something more happy. But…even then it sounds bleak.

And no. This is reality. Not a lie. Get a clue if you can’t even fathom that possibility.

…Let’s go on. Maybe it gets better.

“…to have the best friend anyone’s ever had.”

Yeah right. I can’t help but think someone listening or reading knew I was full of shit with that statement. Jack was hardly the best friend anyone’s ever had. So…I’m at my wits end…and losing my mind…or I feel like I am…or maybe this is going somewhere good? …It’s unclear. I’m either being bitterly sarcastic or…lying lovingly about the dead. Or it’s just…a little unnecessary to add.

“…to have my own room in the White House.”

This ain’t looking so good. Right? So far I’ve got a best friend and a room. …That’s still not equivalent to a wife and family.

“…to be there throughout the most historic moments of his Presidency.”

Okay! Now we’re getting somewhere. …I’m making a statement because all of these things are about shallow things. Materialistic things. A room in the White House. Very much a materialistic thing. …And some gay men might say, “Oh! But you’re hinting at intimacy!” Well…yeah??? …Okay? …I’m hinting at a gay relationship. …But I’ve said I could have had a wife and family too. …And you gave to take that seriously. …So…what really is it I’m saying? …There’s intimacy there. And yet there isn’t. …A room and being physically present isn’t necessarily all that great. And what is a “best friend”? Is it really a good homosexual relationship!? Not necessarily. …It might be. But that’s certainly not a given. …And I shared that with Jackie. Okay!? And her cult following was huge back then. HUGE. So…you have to keep that in mind. My paltry room and physical space shared with him…seems dreary by comparison. So again, what am I really saying!?

…I could have had a wife and family? Most normal adults at that time would have felt a room in the White House and being present during historic events and having a weird quasi-marriage at best…was dumb if you could have been married with kids in your own house. Millions and millions of people in my generation were extremely happy, astoundingly happy people. Settled down. Married. With kids. That happiness was the norm. …And it was real happiness. And they were my audience. NOT PEOPLE TODAY. …I was saying this when they were almost all still alive. I had no idea what 2024 was going to be like. They were my audience. Not men who would have been toddlers at the time who now write for The Advocate. The Silent Generation and The Greatest Generation were my audience. …Not open gay men in Generation X. Not open gay Millennials. There was the “Gay Rights Movement” but they were a minority. They were not my majority audience. They were not my audience to any degree beyond a minority. You have to keep that in mind! …WHO IS MY AUDIENCE!?!!

Damn the willful stupidity of today is disgusting.

“Why are we talking about this!?” says Jan Hertel, with compassion for all other living not straight men. He’s saying this either from the present in his spirit or in the future. “Yes! I mean why are we talking about this on this blog.”

Another male reader laughs at some point.

“I’m addressing the non-straight men. But my statement can be read by anyone. To clarify further.” says Jan Hertel.

So…I could be saying, “I had a gay relationship with Jack. It was…a weird friendship…and favors like a room in the White House and government jobs offered to me and shit like that.” Or I could be saying, “That’s the best stuff that worthless clingy ass ever gave me. …Taking up my time and keeping me ‘company’ this was all I got. Instead of a wife and family. …Just a cool temporary room and historic travel. And his company.”

…Given the tone of my previous statements…those things sound questionable at best. It’s unclear what I mean, at best. I could easily be very angry at Jack. And frankly he was a narcissistic loser. …They didn’t know that. But that’s who he actually was. …Or did they? Was I being passive aggressive for a reason??? At any rate, it’s actually unclear at this point. I sounded angry and you’d have to believe I was homosexual and being extremely objective or…that I knew some hidden part of him from psychology…and his wife…in calling Jack Kennedy the best friend anyone’s ever had to think I’m not still very possibly angry and extremely depressed by my life. OR…and this is where it gets good when you consider I’m writing this on a blog in 2024…you’d have to be a gay man or lesbian woman…who loved the Kennedys. Who would that have been in my audience that I was aware of? Possibly no one. But that’s who reads that statement today.

Let’s continue.

“…or to be married…”

My gosh! I delineated quite a bit about Jack. But now I’m comparing it to being “married.” Just…”married.” That’s a strong statement. And considering I wasn’t out you can’t assume it’s in favor of the homosexual life I led. …I think a lot of people have assumed that. But you can’t. To do so is intellectually shoddy at best.

“Married.” Hmm. That sounds anti-the life I led. …Or at the very least…it’s really unclear I’m actually happy. I WAS NEVER OUT. Remember?

Let’s go on.

“…and settled down.”

What does that mean? It means I’m not settled down. …It means I’m NOT. So..what was that laundry list I just delineated compared to “married and settled down.”? It isn’t being settled down. And what’s next means it isn’t living somewhere either, even though I was living somewhere. I was living in New York City. The same apartment Jack knew. The same city we frequently visited together. Why isn’t that living somewhere to me!? …Because this is an either/or. …Our choices are my life with Jack or these specific things. Which obviously implied I’m not doing them then. How odd if I was at all happy to not perceive myself as “living somewhere.”

What’s settled down? Being a mature…rational…well-adjusted adult. Why wouldn’t I have considered myself a mature, rational, well-adjusted adult? That’s…concerning. It hints at some sort of dysfunction…and it doesn’t seem like I think it’s possible with homosexual marriage actually. …Because I’m placing that in the category of being married to a woman. It’s actually the opposite of what gays of the 2010’s and 2020’s think. …I’m subtly implying that to be settled down…you have to be married to a woman when you’re a man. …Because I wasn’t out. Remember?

You’d have to think I was a childish bastard if you followed the actual statement as intended and assumed I was dating a room in the White House and Jack’s company meant more than being a mature, well-adjusted, normal adult. And I wonder if some people have thought that recently. Because there are comments from Princeton alumni that suggest people do think I was a foolish, shallow buffoon as I aged. Did they know me really? Not necessarily. And they’re very likely forcing themselves to placate people into thinking I was for sure a homosexual genuinely in love with Jack.

…Let’s continue.

“…and living somewhere.”

And living somewhere? I’m not out. So I can’t be being openly derisive of closeted people getting married. And just implied that it’s actually very mature for people to get married. And I’m making a strong statement in favor of the latter…not the former…or I’m saying I never wanted kids…never gave a shit about having my own damn house…or my own wife…and didn’t care about “living somewhere.” …Why would I not want a wife? Just as company even!? I didn’t want kids!? Really!?? …As gentle and deep and kind as I was I never thought of having kids? Or what? …I came from a family that had kids and got happily married. …Why wouldn’t I want that!??

…Why wouldn’t I want that at all. Because given the way I say this…since I wasn’t out…and I really wasn’t…it has to mean that I’m making a strong statement of hatred for marriage and kids…and settling down and living in any…way…that isn’t partying and being immature and wild in any even mildly uncool place. Like…anywhere outside of a cocaine fest in Los Angeles or a heroin den in New York City. Anywhere remotely dull and ordinary. …And that’s what I said.

I said: What’s better? Having a weird relationship with Jack? That was…creepy and hurtful and painfully awkward. But…getting to be with him. And…because he was a big deal having the stuff that comes with being in a committed relationship. You know? A room in the White House and travel. Well…not a committed relationship…but…whatever the hell we had? So…he made some time for me. And tried. …But…I gave up living any kind of normal adult life. And I had no stability or family of my own, truly. Just…temporary stuff.

Could I have possibly been implying that “life in fast lane” for homosexual love was worth it? …It’s not likely. Given the tone of the rest of the statement…and the vagueness of “and living somewhere”…it’s actually unlikely. It’s 80 to 90% likely that I was actually saying I was miserable and that Jack was obsessed with me…and that I kinda wished I’d never met him. …It sounds like I’m disparaging the Kennedys and Jack in a passive aggressive manner. Possibly patronizing them and even insulting their intelligence if they were around when I said it. …For all you know Eunice Kennedy Shriver was there when I said it…as she was my parole officer assigned by the Kennedy family, possibly, to keep an eye on me and what I’d say to the press…and she was hurt. She first heard it like I was giving Jack a huge public sexual and romantic compliment and was glowing…and then realized I was being mean later…and decided to beat me up forever with my own confusing tone? So you interpret my words the way you do because she was narcissistically wounded when I insinuated that she was a blowhard, self-worshipping dullard? Not that I didn’t enjoy joking around with her at times, as in literally making dumb jokes only an idiot or a genius might appreciate. And no, I might not have thought she was a genius.

…It sounds like I’m insulting them. Why wouldn’t I want to live somewhere? I was really that shallow and stupid!?!? I was really that emotionally stunted!? …My family loved me. I was kind. It’s…really unlikely…no impossible…anyone could drink themselves into that kind of immaturity and be a loving person to annoying spoiled children when they called you at night on the phone because they were awkward and weird kids. And that’s recorded. The Kennedy kids called me and frequently expected I would listen to them drone on and on about boring shit that was entirely about them and their youth. …And I did. And that’s recorded fact. And according to them I was “gentle and made them feel like they weren’t freaks who were being purposefully left out.” Yeah! That’s not emotionally possible for a drunkard who happily fucked Jack and got away with not killing himself by being drunk all the time since age 16. I would have cared…but not in such a…patient way. 16 year olds…can even be parents…but…they’re not raising teenagers. Babies require patience. Yes! But…listening to another teenager go on and on…and on and on…and on…and not getting bored…or being short tempered at all…is unlikely. Even for the most mature teenager. That really requires an adult mind. And maturing. An adult perspective. …I grasped their feelings from an adult perspective. And there’s other evidence to suggest I was loving and mature too. Like my family’s relationship with me. …They wouldn’t likely have been tolerant of an actual freak drug addict who had developed almost no maturity since 16 and and morphed into a jackass. No. I just wasn’t that…pathetic and shallow. And you can’t rearrange what I said to make me happily gay. You have to be honest and read what I actually said. In context.

No. I sound…negative. I sound like I’m making a huge statement against the life I led in a passive aggressive way. I wasn’t living somewhere!? …I just wanted to get high all the time? That was really better than being settled down? Because that’s what I said. I…didn’t perceive myself as “living somewhere.”

I was really that snobby towards my own family!? …I really didn’t care about settling down at all!?

…They say I was raffish to cover-up for misinterpretation and misinformation.

…Let’s think. I start off being warm then I’m cold towards Jack. No? Then my final statement sounds even worse. Because you have to read it as I paced it…in the tone I…I would have used!!!

…Even if you make it flippant and “pro-gay” at first you still have to slow it down at the end. Because I use and over and over again. I’m slowing down my thoughts to emphasize something. And the way I do it…sounds…super insulting to homosexuals in general if I sound flippant at first. EVEN IF I’M OUT.

To form the words and thought I had you have to slow down your words!!! …Even if you’re speaking quickly. There’s no debating this. This is fact.

…The thing is…by slowing down your pace…especially in saying “and living somewhere” it sounds automatically like I’m implying that that’s the life of importance. And it was. I’ve said that. My generation felt that that life was essential. And we definitely had those blessings. …That’s also recorded real history. We weren’t just a bunch of miserable old fucking idiots in shit marriages who were annoyed by our kids. That’s a God damn evil lie. And history would and does point to that. We were a lot happier! And we got married and had houses we owned with happier, healthier kids.

“Hey! Remember me? Yeah. I’m running for US President now. …My family ruined the world…? Well…now we’re going to fix it! …We created the problem? Huh. I bet you…anything…we can come up with a solution!

Makes sense? Doesn’t it?

…Vote for me! Bobby Kennedy Junior for US President in 2024! …Because if we created the problem…we can fix it!” says a woman mocking Bobby Kennedy Junior.

…So! If I could have had that life…and that last point, which is said slowly but with few words, obviously…what does that mean? You can’t say “…and living somewhere.” with an upturned voice to make it sound stupid. That’s not at all how anyone would say it.

“I’m voting for Bobby. That actually does make sense.” says a Gen. X woman, sincerely.

Well…that was actually mocking him. But…you read it as a sarcastic statement with an upside compliment. No, that’s what was intended at all. Oh well.

Anyway…

Getting back to the point of this post.

I say that last point in a serious way. And I’m not on Hard Ball. Okay? I’m not prompting a quick argument from an opponent. There’s no natural way for me to have actually said that sounds like I’m genuinely arguing against it. Do you know why? Because it’s such a strongly worded statement. …What…the hell…am I saying!? …The opposite idea of “living somewhere” is having a temporary room in the White House and knowing Jack Kennedy as a best friend. …Like I said…I wasn’t out. And…you have to really force it to sound optimistic. …And mysteriously nobody ever talks about my tone. Or who I even said it to. Or when! Certainly not where. That’s WEIRD.

Scar Tissue plays. Zelda sits in a bathtub where she once slit her wrists while alive and analyzes the song. It’s supposed to be about Lem and Lacey but…it doesn’t quite work. Zelda laughs. The dead possibly inspire living art more than you think when it’s good, if there’s Purgatory.

Otherside plays. At Lacey’s request, possibly in the future. It’s darker but better and Zelda agrees.

“All she ever had?” says Zelda to Lem. “WOw! Brilliant idea!!”

Zelda throws sand from Cape Cod in Lem’s face.

“Nice grave, bastard!” yells his sister at Lem.

“Bastard. Isn’t that Boston talk?” says Zelda’s mom.

“You fucking bastard!!” says Lacey in a fake Boston accent.

Joe Junior finds it cute. Has to excuse himself.

“It is a weird accent.” he says.

Zelda rolls her eyes.

“Wow.” says Scott. “It’s going okay Lem.” he says reassuringly, but also with some sarcasm.

“You’re just recording all this.” says Joe Junior to Lacey.

“YES! …YES!” says Saoirse, annoyed.

As I was saying…

I could be saying I’m in favor of my life as lived. But I start off sounding so grim. How do you go from saying the first two sentences with present moment sincerity…at that time…and not sound a bit off?

I end my argument in favor of being his plaything with watching historic moments. That’s not a strong conclusion to that portion. And regardless…what THE FUCK…am I SAYING!?

Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana plays. Zelda and Lacey like this song, despite the cover art. Because the message of the song is that important.

I’m saying that it was better to be…shit faced in my 60’s…living in a filthy apartment in Manhattan just to get high the next day. Just to have a gay-moments-on-occasion-best-friend and his meager attention? That’s an impossible emotional relationship, at least long-term. It’s mostly one-sided, and certainly unfulfilling and lethally insubstantial.

Look…try saying those first two lines…without hearing something fishy and doublespeak in the “I mean I could have had a wife and family, but what the hell.” It’s very, very difficult to pull that off without it sounding double-minded.

Tom requests Pumped Up Kicks. Tom. Matthew. Lots of dead men request it.

Actually…you can say it. But based on the lie that men don’t have any emotions or emotional needs at all and are just meaningless, thoughtless, two-dimensional pieces of workhorse, drunkard shit. As in, that’s scientifically all they are. And for a supposedly gay man who was that into art as I was…to be so…emotionally hollow is a bizarre concept. Actually…what even is friendship to me? If I’m that close to emotionless. Not that Jack and the other narcissist Kennedys didn’t believe I was emotionless. They might have. They really might have thought I was devoid of any emotions or feelings of my own. …But then I compare this supposed half-baked life to being married and settled down and living somewhere. …That’s beyond extreme.

That’s…beyond extreme. EXTREME!?!? No. …It’s…a lie.

Think about it. Empathetically.

You hear it. Take it seriously. I’ve been permanently suicidally madly in love over Jack since I met him!? …And I’m saying this IN MY 60’s!?! Or 50’s!? …How HUMAN…is that!? …So I’m constantly on high-speed emotionally, full speed ahead? No distractions. No regrets. No disturbances!?! EVER!? Even narcissists can’t do that! Nobody can be that “extreme.” I never once thought Jack was an worthless ass!? Ever!? I never ever felt my own feelings!? All those decades!? Never!?? Not once!? Even when I took a shit!? Certainly Jack didn’t distract me from feeling pain constantly with his love? I never felt pain while he was alive if I loved him? …And that pain was worth never settling down and having a family and a wife? Wow! …Except…he slept with lots of other people and got married himself with obvious love for his bride and the public premise that she was his true love, not me. …He treated me very poorly. Louis Bayard isn’t wrong about that point. …But people back then didn’t know what a worthless ass Jack was when I made that statement.

So…if I could have had a wife and family…

If I could have had a wife and family…why would I be so fucking certain? …I call him the best friend anyone ever had. That’s…a fawning, hyperbolic statement. Which should be obvious. Who says that kind of thing with the utmost seriousness and complete sincerity. No one with any sense of reality. …So…what was the actual point? Was he the best gay lover anyone’s ever had? Even if you look at it that way…it makes the marriage and family seem possibly better, in retrospect at least. What’s a temporary great gay lover over your own life? I never came out. You can’t presume I wasn’t capable of getting married and being truly married to a woman because I say I was capable. Fully capable. …So…what? He was the best pseudo-husband anyone’s ever had? Really though? That was hyperbole. Remember? Was he really that great? Even if I said it sincerely it’s still suspect. You have to assume I love him. You can’t know. …So…what did we actually have together? I don’t ever say. I could be implying a gay relationship with the references to the room in the White House and the historic travels…but…it’s unclear how good the relationship actually is. I could be covertly bragging about my sexual ability to gay men. But what was the actual relationship like? How happy are we? It’s unclear. And you’d need that to make the comparison work as I frame it in the following lines. No. That’s not what I meant to say.

You can’t really easily hear it the way you do nowadays. Not really. Which is why white old men in 2018 or so from Princeton are baffled when they analyze it. And it’s embarrassing that being educated at my alma mater they’re so dumb. I’m sorry! But yes, dumb. …Extreme!? Wow! I was a man of extremes!? …But at least they said something to hint at their confusion. …No. I may have been baffling in general…but…I wasn’t a man of extremes. Not…really. …But I wonder if they even knew me at all or if they’re just analyzing me based on being old and our mutual alma mater.

Anyway, they have something to answer for if they care that much anyway. …Because no. I’m sorry. It’s unlikely I was advocating for the life I led. …The tone is very different than that, despite how it’s misread nowadays out of context. …Very unlikely.

Lacey a melancholy town who never smiles. Even if she’s extremely beautiful.

Feel Good Inc. is me laughing or someone else at first? It’s a fascinating song. Is there reincarnation? Or no?

It’s playing right now as I write this.

Anyway…it’s very unlikely I meant what I said in any positive way about the life I led. It was a complaint. A passive aggressive attempt to stand-up for myself publicly. …Covertly. And then it was turned into something else that was the opposite of what I meant. And actually that harmed me greatly.

You could try to make it “pro-gay.“ …But you have to realize that it’s a covertly “pro-gay” message if I had meant it that way at all. Because I never came out about what I had chosen to do sexually. I was closeted, as they say. And unwilling to discuss it. So…it was a covert “pro-gay” statement if it was at all. …And then if you think that…and why would you?…what am I saying!? It’s so convoluted! …Because am I insane? Extreme? Emotionally stunted? What? It’s a weird statement if I meant it to be covertly “pro-gay.” The tone makes it…sound unhinged. I’m sound like I’m lying. Because…was our love that great!? Really? …If you’re going to take it that way…what about his marriage!? That just wasn’t a problem? Wow! WHY!? Our love was never harassed by that to any serious degree or tainted? Our love was that pure and astounding!? So much so that he could just include me vaguely and “given how oppressive things were” I was permanently in awe of him? No problems? …All those supposed affairs. No problem? …Because people knew about the rumors of the affairs. …He would have been cheating on me TOO! …But oh no! No maturity. No life of my own practically at all! Nope! All good! …Just…chillin’ watching and waiting around for him…in Manhattan. While he fucked lots of other people. And I was miserable and alone. Really!?

That’s a weird person. No needs of their own beyond some closeted married guy’s watered-down mediocre love!? Wow! Because how much did he LOVE ME!? …Not much. Proof is in actions not just words and in actions he’d be mediocre, even considering family obligations.

No. It’s actually a huge stretch and possibly impossible. Given the meager amount of love I would have experienced. And what man like me…would at 50…truly believe that a shallow human connection at best…equaled a stable life of your own with a wife and family? And yes. It would have had to be shallow. Not deep. …Monogamy is real. Okay? People aren’t polyamorous creatures. Not really. …I’m not sure that’s even possible in a healthy adult. It is if God says it is, but…then that’s what I was and not…a petty, prissy, jealous gay bitch. Actually…I don’t exhibit any signs of polyamory. But that’s too much to get into right now.

No…the life and psychological framework you have me at…is…impossible if you think I’m making a “pro-gay” covert statement. It’s psychologically impossible. I’m sorry. …You can imagine it makes sense…but if you actually analyze it…it’s impossible. …So what was it? Well…I was either bisexual and saying that I was extremely disillusioned, deeply bitter and suspicious of all gay men. And…actually…if that was true…and Red Fay’s eye-witness account would back this theory up…and you should be careful because it’s not normal that they’ve ignored and misconstrued that…Lacey is proof I wasn’t imagining things. Because I’m far happier with her. Even with a huge gulf between us. …Or I was gay…and bitter and angry. And the gay community has taken my covert attempt to describe some relationship as meaning I was entirely favor of the idea and the relationship itself. Because no, I don’t sound happy. And…honestly…someone with my personality wouldn’t probably lie and claim sexual orientation privilege to show off. Right? …I wasn’t bragging about being so manly I could fuck chicks. I was saying some sort of complaint. So…it’s almost impossible I wasn’t bisexual, pansexual or straight. …I could “get married” means I could have sex regularly with a woman. That’s what it means.

Sal from Mad Men doesn’t stay married and have kids. Does he? Huh. …No. I was saying I could do it. I could settle down and be at least almost entirely monogamous…because that’s settled down. So…if I could have monogamous sex with a woman and get…her pregnant repeatedly…I had some sense I found women at least fuckable, to be blunt.

…But really…it’s far more likely I was straight. You can’t necessarily easily intuit that from my statement…unless you analyze how miserable I really was. …And then once you realize how miserable I was…you realize how weird and disrespectful and disturbing my so-called relationship with him actually was. And why would I even think that’s an option at all!? …Would any actual homosexual or bisexual or pansexual think that what we did made sense? Probably not. Not if they’re a rational person. So…why would I do that!? Why would I do that to myself and my family!? …Clearly something was off in my head. …And when you realize I’m saying I could have had had regular monogamous, actual sex with one woman…you have to wonder if I was just straight. Not asexual. Straight.

And I was straight.

What was I meaning to say? …A cryptic insult to the Kennedys. I felt I was being held hostage at least by the time I was in my 40’s. And that feeling that I was being held hostage didn’t go away. …I felt…violated. And I was violated by that entire family, if not sexually assaulted I was violated in terms of boundaries and human dignity and respect. They were violently disrespectful, violated my human dignity and violated my boundaries.

No. I didn’t act truly gay. I acted gay. So when my voice was relaxed or my face was relaxed I seemed entirely straight. Very straight. …I was reminiscent of Harold Loeb…and Dick Van Dyke. Actually very reminiscent of Dick Van Dyke’s brother. I was straight. You’re mislabeling old genes as gay genes. I don’t think either of those men were gay. And I wasn’t either. Quirky? Maybe. Naturally squeaky voice. But not…gay. That gay aesthetic I had was entirely fake. It was an act. My gay act falls apart when you see it…move. When it’s in motion it falls apart in my words and movements. Just like how gay and non-straight men can’t quite pull off being straight to everyone, no matter how much they might believe otherwise. Lacey can tell. So can I. And other people can and could too.

“ just speaking as an actress who knows what you’re talking about love I would bet that Lacey could find the flaws in my acting because I don’t know if anyone’s acting is ever 100% flawless. I don’t know if it’s possible psychologically but people have tried, but let’s just say that you were straight, and that you were scouted out by people who hated Jack within the US government who may have even thought you were like Dick Van Dyke I wonder if you actually did resemble him more than we realize especially his brother and they picked up on that just casually watching television one night even did you sorry to have to ask this maybe but did you help assassinate your very best friend ever and then maybe you told yourself oh no, that didn’t happen or you compartmentalized it hope you know I am I hope to kill him, but that was because they asked me to, and I found just cause for it because of nuclear war or other issues and nuclear war and you thought no he’s a heinous person. I have nothing to say if the CIA wants to kill him, I will help because there was all of that repressed rage, because if you were straight and you were pressing all of that normal, sexual adult desire, and he was hitting you with guns in the White House. I just wonder if you snapped and really did help kill him and if you did, I just have someone still in the living world I just want to say wow I am I what I want to think there’s an illuminati part of me wants to think that part of me wants to think the David Pitts who is in on some conspiracy with there’s a part of me that worries were dumb and that a lot of us just don’t get it and so I need help of people who aren’t quite that dumb whether I’m saying this now or in the future did you help kill Jack? Just had a curiosity, just asking did you help assassinate JFK?“ asks Megan Mullally.

I will answer that someday Lord willing.

“ was Lord Mountbatten, assassinated because of you?” asks Megan.

“If there’s reincarnation…maybe. Figure that out first!” says Alfred Hitchcock.

So…in conclusion…

“Jack’s insecure.” says Alfred Hitchcock.

So…in conclusion…it’s pretty obvious once you think about it…or have it pointed out to you….that I was straight. Straight, and hurt that I wasn’t living somewhere with a life of my own. I sound sad. You can hear it. And then you realize how lied to you’ve been. And it’s disorienting. If I was straight and confused…for real…what else is a lie? For real.

How about this: America is both better off and stronger and more stable than most other countries…and they lie about that…and it’s also paradoxically weaker and they lie about that too. They lie about our weak country…and our robust economy. Our finances. so to speak, aren’t great. But our country is also a lot more healthy than Lacey thinks. If we keep pushing it though…it’ll get weak. Because we are in deep water. …Don’t keep attacking me.

Later.

“Lem…what is this!? I think can see your straight soul I think underneath it. And it’s a soul that matches up in every photo of you, which is proof it’s potentially your real soul. And you’re straight.

But…I’m being harassed. What is this? This…essence?” says Lacey.

“I don’t know why the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida is so overconfident though. That’s creepy.” says Lacey.

“It’s who I thought I was.” says Lem. “So it’s more than an act…but also just an act.”

“It feels like a weird fog.” says Lacey.

“Like I’m drunk or insane.” says Lem.

“So it’s not real?” says Lacey, terrified and in a fog herself.

Smells Like Teen Spirit plays as Zelda musically slaps Lacey in her face to snap her out of it. It works.

Zelda snaps her fingers in Lacey’s face.

“Thanks.” says Lacey sweetly.

“You can’t drink.” says Zelda.

“It’s terrifying.” says Lacey.

The song plays.

“I suppose…I can think.” says Lacey.

“You can.” says Zelda sweetly.

“Lacey. Come on!” says Janis.

“But if I just figured that out…that’s terrifying.” says Lacey.

“Why!?” says Lem.

“You’re not supposed to know. You’re supposed to learn or humbly and with a perfect science…figure it out…into complete annihilation of all possible doubt.” says Zelda.

“Yes.” says Lacey.

“But what if…you’re right? And nobody else has thought of it?” says Scott.

“I can’t be right!!!” says Lacey, in a panic in her spirit.

“Why!?” says Zelda. “You’re not in World War I.”

“No. What if I am!?!” says Lacey. “What if I am!?”

“Yeah. Because…who are you? Nobody has acknowledged your intentions. You have honest intentions.” says Zelda.

“He’s DEAD.” says Lacey. “And so am I.”

“If you’re reincarnated. You’re right in a way.” says Zelda. “But…you’re also alive.”

“Am I alive?” says Lacey.

Zelda looks around.

“Yes.” says Zelda. “You are.”

“NO!!!” yells Lacey.

“Yeah. If there’s reincarnation you’re not supposed to be here. You and your kids should be with Lem. With us.” says Zelda. “But you can’t die until God says so.”

Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones plays. It’s one of Lacey’s favorite songs.

“What if there isn’t?” says Lacey.

“Same thing. Some modifications.” says Zelda.

“How can I know him? He’s such a great man.” says Lacey, humbly.

She laughs. “Lacey. I’m a very big deal.”

“No!” says Lacey.

“Yes!!” says Zelda. “REALLY.”

“What the fuck is this!??” says Lacey.

“We are. We’re…zippy.” says Zelda.

“Like sparkles.” says Lacey.

“Yeah!!” says Zelda. “EXACTLY!!”

“How can I possibly be right!??” says Lacey, mystified.

“Yeah. You’re on your own with this one. For real.” says Zelda.

Lacey thinks.

“But if there’s reincarnation you started Scotland.” says Zelda.

“I hate being wrong. It’s TERRIFYING.” says Lacey.

“God isn’t that dumb. He’s so much more balanced intellectually than that. …He understands human stupidity.” says Zelda.

“Am I a genius?” asks Lacey.

“Yeah.” says Zelda.

“Yeah. I think it’s a facade. Or an elaborate act.” says Lacey. “But I hesitated to guarantee it.”

“I can. That’s all it was.” says Lem. “I’m a genius too.”

“You’re smarter than me.” says Lacey to Lem.

“Yeah. I bet he is.” says Tsar Putin. “So am I.”

“I am.” says Lem. “I am smarter in a way.”

“I can’t act that well. It’s too overwhelming and dangerous.” says Lacey.

“But I can handle it? Hmm. Well…I’m handling it. …But you’re not stupid.” says Lem.

“It was all an act!?!” says JFK.

“Yes!” says Lem.

Jack looks shocked.

“Look…it falls apart. I didn’t ever actually want what’s called gay sex.” says Lem.

Later.

“I was actually straight. I really was.

Lacey watched the opening ceremonies. …If there’s an Illuminati…*I laugh*. …No. Lacey will not be having any moments in the French libraries.” says Lem.

“Lem what actually happened?” asks Elizabeth McGovern.

Lem has to take a moment.

“I was gay in my mind. And I made other people believe what I did. And now I regret it.” says Lem.

“You did.” she says.

“I wish you and other people of today could have seen me. …I really didn’t seem gay. …I seemed straight with a weird…act.

*he pauses*

Lacey and I are meant to be together forever. She has fears but they’re based on other people’s assumptions. And so…they’ll fade.” says Lem.

“She’d never-“ starts a woman.

“Have a situation like the film?” says Lem.

“Yes.” says the woman.

“NO!” says Lem. “I’d never have gone along with that. And if I did I’d not have let her be with him again. Whoever he was. Because I would have been with her myself.”

“And what about those sort of men?” asks a woman.

“No! She’s really not attracted to gay men. …I wasn’t gay. Michael Rockefeller is as gay as she is generally attracted to.” says Lem.

“But you had so many female friends.” says a woman.

“Not that way. …My friendships were…shallow with women.” says Lem.

A woman laughs. “Lem…how did you never sleep with anyone!?”

He looks sad. Thoughtful. Angry. “I was…a good man.”

“But come on!” says another woman.

He smiles and laughs. “Yeah. Well…I was…trying to be friends.”

“Didn’t it get awkward?” she says.

“Yeah. And I’d seem attracted to them and straight. …But they didn’t ever notice. Or care.” says Lem.

“So you’d feel attracted to them. After acting like a silly gay man and singing with them or posing in photos in a flirty way. Stuff like that.” she says.

“Yes.” says Lem.

“See…this makes me think Jack knew.” says an actress. “I think he used to lure in women.”

“He did. Or make them feel more comfortable.

And I was careful. But not as careful as I should have been. But…I did care. I did…see prostitutes as sec workers. But at the same time I didn’t want sex with them because they were…so depressing. …I wanted real sex. And if I wasn’t going to get it…I wasn’t about to give away my real virginity to some fake lover.” says Lem. “I didn’t understand that that’s what I was feeling. …But I knew it in my subconscious.”

“Lem…what real evidence do we even have other than your convincing acting?” asks a woman.

“That I was gay?” asks Lem.

“Yes.” says Lance Bass, laughing.

“You could think my…innocence was gay. I was happy to have fun with people and…I tried not to be uptight. …Is there any evidence? Real evidence? …No.” says Lem.

“So…we really have no way to know if we’re right if we still don’t think you were just acting.” says an actress.

“No!” says Lem.

“Are you like my character!?” asks Jon Hamm.

Lem laughs. “YES!!”

“So your face changes?” says Lance Bass.

“My face literally drops. My facial features drop. And I look suddenly far more…somber.” says Lem.

“So you’re like me?” says Jon Hamm.

“Your character. Yes. But I wasn’t a jerk. And my personality was…different. But there is a similarity.” says Lem.

“So…who was aware of that?” says Jon Hamm.

“A lot of people.” says Lem.

“Are they mocking you?” asks Jon Hamm.

“They’re mocking Lacey. Possibly. …And possibly trying to point out that I was a bizarre person by today’a standards.” says Lem.

“So you’re saying you faked the gay looks.

Did have one dominant gay persona?” says Lance.

“No.” says Lem.

“Who were these people?” asks Lance.

“Ahh…there was a man who was…a bit like you, actually. Another who was very flamingly gay. I mean…he was gay. Sassy. Opinionated. …There was a prissy princess. I used that one in the White House often. …I felt guilty and privileged being there…and as Jackie used me and saw me as a sort of sister bride…*I laugh* I ran with that in my imagination and decided to use a fairly prissy gay personality. Very confident. Although I am confident. …There were dozens of them.” says Lem.

“Did Jack notice that!?” asks an actress.

“No.” says Lem.

“Did anyone!?” asks Lance.

“Yes! People compared me to Zelig for a reason.” says Lem. “That Zelig tendency came from my confusion.”

“I think that’s honorable. Really. That you were trying to be real.” says Lance.

“I didn’t think using a persona was fake. I thought it was…me being myself. Or maybe being more…sophisticated. We all adopt mannerisms that we think suit us. I was just…very confused.” says Lem.

“So you’re a burly…aristocrat…sweet…decent…ursine version of Don Draper.” says a reader. “What the fuck!!? What…the…fuck!?”

“Somewhat.” says Lem.

“You’re not the Lem we thought existed.” says a woman.

“Who did you decide I was?” asks Lem.

“A joker. A gay joker.” says a man.

“He sounds straight. How many real gay men are jokers?” says Lem.

“Not many.” says a gay actor.

Lem nods. He thinks. “There could be some. But that personality usually is straight. …Honestly it’s a cover for pain. Possibly. But the particular pain of a sensitive straight man. Elliott Roosevelt is a joker.”

“Are you a joker?” asks a gay actor.

“Yeah? …I liked being likable. …Lacey is only likable to be kind and stay safe. …Otherwise she’s just polite. And considerate.” says Lem. “I made jokes to be affable.”

Chris Hayes thinks.

“So…you remind me of Carl Lewis. Why!?” says Chris.

“Yeah! Except…I’m pretty sure he’s bisexual. …I did seem like him. But I was straight. Why!? …Because I wasn’t being myself. …Carl Lewis is hiding his homosexual, possibly. Even though…I’d be surprised if he isn’t attracted to women too. …I was trying to act gay without acting gay. Because I wanted to seem gay…but not…seem gay. …His act was similar maybe but not for the same reason. …Give off an air of homosexuality…but also make it seem discreet. Possibly because you feel uncomfortable with it. …Like really uncomfortable. …So I found a way to look gay…but tone it down. He might have done the same thing with gay mannerisms.

…Lacey looked at him and thinks he’s bisexual. She sees bisexuality under his act. But she sees my heterosexuality. …He might not want to be gay at all. And…if he’s attracted to women…that’s between him and God.

You know…he could also be bisexual…and have been sexually abused. To be blunt. And…even if he is bisexual…he may not feel at ease saying that because he doubts it. Because he figured out what it took me years to figure out.

…So! What was I actually like!?

…I was…very serious. Playful. Sweet. Somewhat quiet. …I seemed like an ordinary straight man. Of my generation.

See I look like I’m trying to be…more energetic. What’s underneath? …A sad…lonely man with no friends who actually know who he is. Almost at all. …No wife. No kids.” says Lem. “Lacey knows me.”

“Does Jack even know you!??” says Lady Gaga.

“Kind of.” says Lem. “Not all that well.”

Adult content below.

I walk into the Oval Office. It’s 1961. Lacey Banks is 38. She’s stunningly attractive. …Perfect figure. …Never married. Why? Because she spent ten years as Harold Loeb’s girlfriend. And in the end he felt too old for her. So he told her to find a better life. She…quickly and easily found a job as a part of the administration because she wanted to work as a writer. Harold encouraged her to write. Lacey likes writing far more than she consciously realizes.

I walk in and introduce myself again. We had met briefly a few days before. And now we were going to have to work in the same room…without Jack. She wants my opinion. Someone told I was a decent writer.

“Excuse me, Mr. Billings?” says Lacey.

“Yes!” I say.

“Listen…may I call you Kirk?” says Lacey.

“Yeah. But everyone here calls me Lem. …You can call me Kirk if you want to.” I say, touching her arm and leaving it there.

“Lem. Kirk LeMoyne.” she says, and then gets lost for a second.

I laugh, nervously.

“Is Lem a nickname from Childhood?” she asks.

“You guessed it!” I say brightly, lighting-up a cigarette.

We stare into each other’s eyes as I blow smoke out of my mouth.

“I like it.” says Lacey smiling. “I’ll call you Lem if you prefer that.”

“Call me Lem!” I say.

“I do like Kirk though.” says Lacey. “You have a nice name.” she says thoughtfully.

I smile sweetly. Catch her attention and smile to make her smile. We smile together.

“So…here’s what I’m bothering you about, Lem.” she says, almost mischievously. “I’m editing a speech for the President, and there’s a part where he addresses the audience and asks them questions about their day. It’s at the very beginning.

Well…Lem…I’ve just never seen a U.S. President do that.” she says.

“Let me take a look at it!” I say. I motion for her to sit with me on the sofa eventually.

She seems to find this…unnerving. I wonder why.

Facing her I ask her why she’s so nervous.

“Would you rather go somewhere else?” I say.

She eyes me. “No.” she says. She looks resigned.

“Why don’t we-“ I say.

She blinks.

My mouth drops open. I had no intention of saying what I just said.

“Lem…I’m sure I’m fascinated by whatever it is you’re saying. But…what do you think?” says Lacey. She looks deeply into my eyes. “Your honest opinion is very valuable. Please!”

I touch her knee. I’m letting myself go crazy. Why? …Because I feel she understands me. Truly understands me. It’s just a gut sense.

“I like your mind.” I say, getting my face close to hers. I seem awkward. I’m inexperienced.

She smiles, showing her teeth.

I laugh.

She looks serious.

“Should I take it out?” she says.

“Yeah.” I say. I move my face nearer hers. “Why aren’t you wearing perfume?” I ask.

“I am!” she says.

I move my face in front of hers and meet her eyes. “Where!? I can’t smell it!” I say moving my nose into her neck.

She touches my cheek with her hand. Closes her eyes.

“It’s Gardenia.” she says. “But I don’t wear a lot of it. Just a few drops.”

I push her backwards.

“I won’t get you pregnant.” I say quietly.

“That’s not likely. You’ll get me pregnant.” says Lacey. “Let’s not lie. ….I like you.”

“Why do you do this!?” I say, losing myself in passion at the same time.

“Do what!?” she says.

“We’re making love!” I say, a little too loudly.

“Oh!” she says.

I stop suddenly, catch myself. Look at her. Stunned. Worried.

“Oh! No…I know. I understand.

…I just…I’m-“ she says, struggling.

I wait. Holding her.

“This is sudden.

And I love that.

Darling…I…lived with an artist. For years. …You’d know him!

But…it is sudden. …And…people are cruel.” says Lacey.

“I won’t ever dump you!” I say.

“Then we’d get married.” says Lacey.

“Can you get pregnant?” I ask.

“Yes! …I would have. But he wasn’t able to. …I’m sorry if I shocked you.” says Lacey.

“You were in love with him!?” I ask.

“Yes.” she says.

“But you aren’t anymore?” I say.

“No!” she says. She looks sad.

“Let’s get out of here! Say! I know a place.” I say. “In upstate New York.”

“We just met.” she says.

“So what!?!” I say, sharply.

“Are you suddenly in love with me?” she says.

“Yes!” I say.

“Well you better be good. Because I’m 38. I’m old. …And I’m sick of being single.” says Lacey. “Say! We’re both old.”

“Yeah!” I say nodding in her face.

“Why?” she says.

“Just let me tell you later.” I say.

“Fine.” she says.

“Jack will be okay?” I say.

“His speech!?” she says.

She sees I mean that.

“Oh! Yes! I’ll just make a few edits right now.” she says. She makes them and then walks out to the secretary. Hands her the paperwork. Instructions included.

Then she returns to me.

I eye her.

“Why don’t you tell me about it now??” says Lem.

“I’ve never been married. I’m from Minneapolis, Minnesota. …I’m the youngest of two. I have one older brother.

…My father is into real estate.

Harold Loeb, Robert Cohn from The Sun Also Rises was my…lover.” she says. “He’s still in love with Brett Ashley.”

“You’re Brett Ashley.” I say.

She looks confused. “No, I’m not.”

“I don’t mean literally.” I say.

She waits.

“I’m not a faggot.” I say.

“I would have never thought you were.” says Lacey.

I look down. “So he broke your heart?”

“Oh! Maybe. …He can’t help loving her. You know?” she says.

“You loved him.” I say.

“Yes.” she says. “But…if he loves her…still…there’s nothing I can do. …And he’s just not for me!”

“That’s very kind. And very loving.” I say.

She waits.

“Let’s find love.” I say.

And at that I tell her to close the door. And we make love.

…Yes. We do seem reincarnated. …We might not be. Some people just understand each other. …Who else has had it in them to really wonder if I was straight?

…It’s depressing this sort of thing made it into our children’s lives today on the OLYMPICS!
