Lacey thinks that Enron was smart not because she thinks that evil is good but because she thinks that America was basically going insane and bankrupt at that point and that what they did was actually very practical and logical in a very tragic way. She blames other people outside of Enron for the disaster but that’s not vindicating what they did or justifying it at all you’re talking to Lacey Banks, and don’t unless if you’re willing to admit that America is a racist country founded on the backs of slaves, don’t go there OK?

When Mark Schiebel dies…he’s going to flip open his laptop and work. Why? Because this whole time he’s been stressed-out. He’s just want to get work done. So for a therapeutic hour he’ll just sit and work. He’ll just finally finish his work. Quickly. No distractions. The Illuminati has been very distracting. It’s been exhausting.

He’ll sit in a sweatshirt and pants…at a coffee shop…and work. With good coffee.

He’ll probably flirt with the pretty waitress. But maybe she’ll be exceptionally pretty like Lacey. And maybe she won’t go home with him but he’ll get her phone number and call her later. Like on the weekend. What’s the rush?

“We’ve decided that’s okay. But we want them tonight. We’re going to my parents. Want to come with?” asks Lem.

“Good! We’ll see you there at 6!” says Lem.

Mark smiles. “I’ll be there at 5.” He laughs.

“That’s okay.” says Dr. Billings.

Mark cries. Goes home. Showers. Shaves. Wears Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet and gets a haircut. Buys a suit. Debates about flowers.

Decides to bring…roses. From Lacey’s dad. Near Lake Harriet. The Schweitzers have him into gardening roses.

He naps. And then he flies to the Billings.

Once there they have a nice quiet dinner. Lem has taught his kids table manners with Lacey’s help. Or maybe they just can work together in that way.

Later that night. Mark goes for a walk. He texts a few women. He laughs. And then goes and reads a newspaper. Falls asleep and is carried upstairs by Dr. Billings.

When everyone is asleep. It’s safe.

They wake up early and have a leisurely breakfast. Bake bread. Catch fireflies.

And because they’re dead Mark goes home. Alone. But…he needs a break. He goes home and is comforted by God as he weeps. But they aren’t tears of despair so much as sadness and anger. Not despair.
