“Uh Oh!” by Lem

Kate walks in and is faced by God.

American Beauty by Thomas Newman plays.

1:15

Matt cries.

The song ends.

A Pile of Dust by Johann Jóhannsson plays.

“Kate what is your fucking problem?” says Lacey.

“Did you get the sense that I didn’t like you before you I had any idea that my husband found you attractive?” says Kate.

“Yes, the minute I looked at you I knew you’d hate me.” says Lacey.

“That’s true.” she says. “Any idea why?”

“Because you’re an immature, sheltered homeschool-kid who collects dolls?? I have no idea sweetheart. I’ll have to think about it for a second.

OK let’s see. Are you somewhat Eastern European?” says Lacey.

“No?” asks Kate.

“You’re not Hungarian at all?” asks Lacey.

“I don’t know. I could be slightly something?” says Kate.

“Whoever you are I wonder if it’s somewhat like there’s like this social component to it but then there’s also this like genetic thing in that way or I wonder if like my ancestors fought with your ancestors? I might be slightly Prussian or German and I wonder if we fought with you and there was some kind of misunderstanding and it’s really ugly.” says Lacey.

She thinks. “Lacey why did my husband talk to you?”

Lacey takes a deep breath. “At first it was because he seemed upset about our family being misunderstood. …And then it was because…he just wanted to talk? Not everything I hear or say is being recorded. …And then he seemed…strangely keen on discussing the attraction we had for each other. …But I’m not sure where he was going with it. …It feels…sad. I worry there’s something I’m misunderstanding. But…I don’t feel like it’s likely that I’m making anything up.” says Lacey.

“So you two really did find each other attractive?” she says.

“Yes. …But I’m not 100% sure why he’s brought that up.” says Lacey.

“Why would he be?” she says.

“Ahh…possibly because he somehow felt he could be with me? Still. Even though that’s extremely unlikely. …Or possibly because he feels lonely. And somewhat scared. Even though he’s okay too. …Possibly because he’s…trying to sort something out.

And actually…I think it’s that last one. I think he did and does find me attractive…but it’s not…the point. And…maybe it’s become too focused on that.” says Lacey.

“This is VERY ACCURATE!” shouts Matt.

“Could you have married her?” asks his father.

“Yes.” says Matthew. “But we got caught-up trying to explain that…and things got…lost.”

“It’s so hard for me to hear that.” says Kate.

“Yeah. But I decided you needed to hear that. Not Lacey. She wasn’t so sure about it.

And I did that because I feel…horrible. And because…I needed the premise. I’m just…trying to get the Illuminati to admit something.” says Matt. “Or the Illuminati.’

“Which is what?” she says.

“How lost their narrative is. They had us…as very different people. And if Lacey is understanding correctly…JFK ruined things.” says Matt. “I’m trying to fix it.”

Lacey smells Chloe Narcisse.

“What should’ve happened Kate is that you should have said nothing to me at all. You were prompted by JFK to come interrupt the conversation I was having with Lacey. So I was supposed to have talked with her and asked her how she was doing or something like that. And and then I was supposed to have told her that it was nice to see her. And then I was supposed to have told her that we needed to see each other more. And then I was supposed to have made it kind of awkward and obvious that I was attracted to her. And then she would’ve showed-up and then you would’ve shown up. That’s when you were supposed to have shown-up. And from that conversation alone, everything would be dramatically different.

She would’ve analyzed that so much. And then she would’ve started asking people questions about things. And she would have probably asked her husband Mark, because I would’ve married you. And she would have prompted him to get into conversations that he didn’t have with her and they would’ve ended-up being happier because he would’ve made fewer mistakes, and everything would be pretty similar, but dramatically different at the same time it’s like the butterfly effect.

She may have accidentally found the Illuminati but she would’ve handled everything quite differently, and better. And and she would not be here talking like this into this phone right now on my behalf, Because I wouldn’t be dead. Whether you got a boob job or not it’s actually I might’ve wanted you to get one. I’m sorry whether you got one or not I would have found a way to survive because that conversation would’ve been elucidating to me as well. And I would’ve become a henpecked husband in a way that I wasn’t. But I also would have probably been floored when I read this blog. I understood her, but I would’ve understood her far better had I talked to her just a few minutes longer. And I probably would have taken a different approach to talking to her. I would have probably been far more concerned about the safety of the situation and I would’ve thought oh my marriage is troubled. I don’t know maybe there’s something weird going on we’re distant enough cousins, that who knows… but I would have thought this is more of a safety issue.” says Matt.

“Were there other women that you found attractive or was she just an anomaly?” says Kate.

“She was an anomaly and you know I am so sick of you and Jess and every woman who hates her for stupid, petty reasons bitching on her. It’s really embarrassing. It’s like secondhand embarrassment. Just stop for the love of God. Kate stop.” says Matt.

“OK so she was just an anomaly. There wasn’t anyone else who you wanted to cheat with at all?” she says.

“ no there really wasn’t. There was a woman that I’m trying to show her at. I’m showing her like a a parking lot and she doesn’t know if it’s a realtor of ours or someone I bought Girl Scout cookies from like a woman or if it was at church, and there was a woman who I found attractive who is blocked kind of curly blonde hair very like platinum blonde. You may not even remember her. I was very taken by her to be honest, but I didn’t want I didn’t want anything to happen, but that woman was really attractive to me.

And I’m not really a cheater I really not. Part of what you’ve got understand what happened is that she’s basically not my cousin I mean she is my second cousin but she’s not. I mean she is whether it’s genetic or just legal. She is my second cousin she’s raised that way, but our family is distant enough and cold enough in aristocratic enough and Norwegian enough that because I didn’t see her very often I didn’t fill that sort of closeness, with her enough to sort of overpower my instinct to find her attractive. So I saw her in very like personal Waze. I wasn’t like someone that you see at school or something like that it was not. Actually there were people that I felt for other than her but she keeps coming back in a sentence because she’s in the family and she’s extremely beautiful search and she’s my type so it’s like she kept popping back up so to speak you know it’s like funny seeing you here because she’s my cousin so it kind of happened overtime in my mind it was pre-dating you in my mind but it wasn’t something that I ever took seriously but then it’s like you get older and you’re looking back at your life and you start thinking about stuff and you I was just curious so I found her blog and I just started thinking and it just started me thinking more and that’s why I felt the need to say something but it’s it’s really disturbing if you find this blog, it really is extremely disturbing Kate.” says Matt.

“ so basically, you just had a crush on her when you were like 12 and then because she’s not your cousin it really is like Arrested Development and it just got totally like ridiculous one we started having problems in our marriage.” says Kate. “ why didn’t you? What if you were in love with me when we got married why did it affect you to see her so much?”

“ Kate, because there was a horrific thing happening in her life, and I am sort of a person who cares about people, and I just felt that it’s like I just felt I need to do some thing sort of instinctually to help her with her there’s reincarnation or not it became some thing that I felt I needed to do. I’m also very attracted to her and so I was drawn to that it’s like oh woman that I can save who needs me, and if I could just figure out how to make this work, which is reincarnation or not, I could really do something.

And the thing is we had problems or yelled at you. I’m sorry, but you know we had a horrible. We had horrible problems in our marriage from the very beginning we almost didn’t get married we did we had a fight the night before we got married don’t lie about it. Lacey remembers it and so did people in my family they were there! Grow-up! So that’s the thing dear we had huge flaws. There were huge flaws in our marriage from the very beginning and you can’t assume you need to stop because it it’s obvious that we had problems from the very beginning. Could we have made it work. Yeah we could have if I hadn’t been targeted by evil. But I was. So I mean it was just sort of involuntary if there’s any evil in my heart, I will look out for it. I’m sorry but it was. She was unusual. We were having problems and it’s just hit me. I don’t know maybe I’m selfish or something sometimes I’m sorry.” says Matt.
