“ so before the Civil War, where would I have lived actually with my family still have our house in the family?” says Patience.

The the south patients was very wealthy. Historians have lied about that possibly recently relatively speaking, the south was very wealthy. So your family had a three or 4000 square-foot house and it was in a little rough condition here and there but not bad. “I would say racism because that’s what comes to a person’s head right away but I’m not sold on that anymore. I’m starting to think there’s something a little more nefarious that happened.” says Lacey. “I feel like they inflamed the egos of people like Patience. I feel like they inflamed their egos and drove them crazy or made them incredibly poor. And then I feel like they took people like my family, and made us weak. Like literally weak like physically ill, and so we died off or we became decrepit. And obviously some people sank into poverty, but I feel like it wasn’t that simple. I feel like a lot of people literally became physically weak.

Who did that? But I suspect the North. I hate to say it, but I suspect there were some very evil people in the North who were white, who just were pure evil. I worry that they used witchcraft. I worry that they used horrible abusive methods psychologically.

I think the idea was to subjugate Black people and keep them controllable. Make some white people who would’ve been a little feisty you’re really crazy or poor.
