Moloch: Is Casi Hart asexual?
Laura: WHAT!?
Moloch: No. I’m quite serious.
She’s very overtly sexual. And I’m wondering if you’ve all gotten that wrong.
It used to be that that indicated openness to being a slut, *he laughs* but I wonder if today it’s the opposite.
Laura: That’s interesting.
How would that change things?
Moloch: Well, because then she’s annoyed because she’s always being misunderstood.
She isn’t really after sex. She’s after something else.
Lacey: What in the world would that be?
Moloch: MONEY.
Lacey: Oh no!
Moloch: *he laughs*
No, I’m quite serious. I suspect she’s a whore.
Laura: Opens her mouth in shock.
Moloch: She may be able to enjoy men. But I wonder if she’s actually more interested in social connections. Even networking.
Like she was hoping to be “discovered”. An older model?
Lacey: Like for…a dog house company?
Moloch: YES!
Like she’s putting herself out there for MONEY. And status. Not actual sex.
Lacey: What in the world does that have to do with me?
Moloch: You’re very much her opposite, so was Lem. He was heterosexual, but Jack thought otherwise because he was so sexual. You’re both very…faithful people. But…you both love being in love.
You actually love it. Not like narcissists.
Laura: Nods.
Moloch: I wonder if she feels…inferior? Being asexual. I think JFK did. He was actually slightly asexual as well.
Laura: But why would she attack Lacey?
Moloch: MONEY.
Lacey…

Her:

That’s not Casi, but it reminds me of her.
I don’t think that woman, who’s somewhat famous, is asexual. But she’s imitating sexuality in that photo. Not being sexual.
Lacey’s not. That’s actually Lacey.
That woman is a complex individual. In her case, being imitative is…part of an overall relationship with the public. …Why is Casi being so imitative? She’s certainly imitating Lacey, I suspect…but otherwise she’s being real. And I think…it’s because…she’s a bit asexual.
*later*
A reader: What would you think of yourself, class-wise, if you saw your shoe collection.
Lacey: *Lacey thinks*
I’d think I was old money…with a rather unpleasant life.
A reader: What tips you off to the unpleasant life?
Lacey: The Gap boots. *she laughs*
Another reader: YEAH.
How long have you had those?
Lacey: Over ten years.
Another reader: Barely worn.
Lacey: Yes.
Another: AYE. And they’re from the Gap.
Lacey: YES!
*she looks disgusted*
