What Was Up With Margy?

(Warning: Adult content below.)

Laura: I know you’re pretty.

Is this person? Or is that just a line?

Lacey: I can’t tell.

But the tone feels off.

Laura: Lacey…I think the question that some of your mean girl friends in person have wondered is: Why did Margy date an old man?

They think it’s weird.

Lacey: From what I understand, she was just…smitten.

Laura: How do?

Lacey: Well…he had a wife. But he also had a permanent mistress. Thelma was his long-term mistress. They don’t say that online about him, but Thelma was his long-term mistress.

He was…capable of love. Thelma and him had a real, functional relationship. She took care of him as he aged. She was his live-in girlfriend, after his wife died.

But…I think Margy met him and was…swept off her feet. She was very beautiful. Kind of like a 1980’s Nordic model. And I think…he just found her genuinely attractive. It wasn’t pedophilic. She was just a hot woman.

Laura: *Laughs*

Okay. A young hot Norwegian American stewardess in the 1980’s? Your rather father seems like a pretty normal guy.

I mean he didn’t even have any children. Because I have a feeling if he did, it would have seemed weirder to him, and he’d have hesitated. But anyway…-

Why does Margy think it makes sense to date an old man? Like…old?

I think most people think it’s about the money. EVEN IF…he seemed knowing and sophisticated and wise.

Lacey: Well…maybe she dated a lot of men? And…he just did seem wise? And…unusual?

Laura: Well…what’s your impression? You’ve only ever met her once, since birth.

Lacey: *Exhales*

I think she just…wanted…his…elegance?

No! I’m serious.

Laura: Yeah.

Lacey: *Thinking*

He really was an elegant man.

Laura: Women do go for that!

Lacey: I mean…he did pay for stuff? I know he paid for her college education.

Laura: Yeah. Awkward?

Lacey: *Thinks*

I worry she used him.

I worry he was too stupid to realize he was being used.

He was an absolute…problem, for Thelma. I think. Kind of like “Mr. Big” from Sex and The City.

But…maybe as he aged he became more…ashamed of himself. Maybe he felt guilty. So he tried be happy and yet, “more vulnerable”.

Laura: Like, more honest? *She laughs*

Lacey: Yes!

More…vulnerable.

And he just got…used.

I’m not like that. My kids aren’t like that-

Actually, I’m not even sure what she was really all about?

A part of me worries she was just jaded.

I’m obviously very angry with her for dropping me off, so to speak. But…I don’t know…what she was really thinking.

Laura: Or do you?

Lacey: Maybe. Maybe she was just trying to find some happiness. Maybe she was a “Mr. Big” herself.

Laura: YES!

Kind of a daredevil.

Lacey: Yes!

Laura: So she was after his money, but not…really. That just made him seem promising as a man.

Lacey: Yes.

Laura: But you remember him giving you bottles?

Lacey: Yes! I remember him. Somehow.

He was harsh, but very genuinely loving.

Laura: Yes.

He’d give you bottles, and then you’d nap on his shoulder.

Lacey: Yes! He was great daddy.

Laura: I think it broke him when he decided to give you to Jim and Becca, the parents who raised you.

Lacey: Poor man.

It’s sad he didn’t realize how much he actually wanted to be a dad.

Laura: It was probably a huge blind-spot for him.

Lacey: I almost think I’ve talked to his ghost.

Laura: I’m sure you have.

He sounds proud of you, but also sad, and worried.

*A text message conversation between Lacey and her friend Laura this morning.*

*Later.*

Eric: Lacey…there’s chatter.

About the Minnesota State Fair.

What’s your impression?

Lacey: I think there was an energetic hit put on me and my family.

The man who was attacked was described as tall. Think about it.

Eric: Lem?

Yeah.

Or Elliott, even.

So what happened?

Lacey: What do you think happened?

Eric: I think they meant to attack a combination of you and Lem. As one person.

But they can’t accept that you’re not Black. And they can’t accept that you’re not at odds with Somalians.

The energy of a Somalian man: *Dances*

Listen to “In Limbo” by Radiohead.

The energy of Scotia: *Does an African dance with the Somalian man.*

An Ancient Black ancestor of the man who was attacked: What’s your beef with us?

Lacey (possibly as herself or on behalf of Scotia) and the energy of the Somalian man:

We get along with Lacey.

Well.

*He smiles*

We would never have attacked her. It’s not possible.

The Black ancestor: *Weeps*

WHY MINE!? *He screams*

The Somalian man’s energy: *Looks deeply ashamed.*

I am a man!

The Black ancestor: *Looks horrified*

The song ends.

Listen to “Hung-Up” by Madonna.

The Black ancestor: WE DO NOT WANT TO FIGHT EACH OTHER !!

Who made us turn against each other?

The energy of the Somalian man: It’s a LIE!

We had a misunderstanding.

The energy of Scotia: They meant to physically attack ME.

God (?): She was almost unable to attend the fair this year.

She kept having weird accidents.

Who wanted to ruin that for her?

The energy of Louis Hill Junior: Bobby Kennedy Junior.

He’s an irrational idiot.

His energy demonically attacks her and her family.

Listen to “Future Markets” by Jonny Greenwood, from the film There Will Be Blood.

The possible ghost of Lou Hill: He’s…demonically attached to her. Through no fault of her own.

In some places she’s safe. But sadly, the Minnesota State Fair isn’t one of them this year.

Her father warned her, years ago. He explained to her that the fair was going downhill. So, this year it was easy to conjure up enough hatred to make a fight manifest.

I’m incredibly upset.

Why didn’t anyone defend him!? Why was it SO EASY to conjure evil-hearted energy to target her and her innocent, sweet little family at the State Fair.

I’ll tell you why. MONEY.

People are too naive and brainwashed, in many cases, outside certain circles, to realize how dangerous it is to attack her. Which is why it’s a nice Black man and a Somalian. It’s pure evil.

She seems like the perfect target. And she’s not.

A vulnerability issue. It’s a vulnerability issue.

He was a sweet, tall man who had lived in a foster home. A successful father. Much like Lacey.

And…there’s Ilhan Omar. Her…associations.

So Bobby expected…his daddy’s Demons in the DFL to have his back. Like the spoiled brat he is.

But…that man, who they attacked, is LOVED and NEEDED. And now the young men who attacked him are…profoundly ashamed. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. It’s not going to bode well for their community. Because they actually chose the wrong target. He was mislabeled.

Listen to “Chala Vahi Des” by Shye Ben Tzur, Jonny Greenwood, and the Rajasthan Express.

Lou: Bobby was a heroin addict.

The reference to India was intended. I requested the song playing.

See…you can’t choose the wrong man. When you’re making a hit.

Because now…A LOT OF SHIT IS GOING TO GO DOWN.

Bobby is too dumb, narcissistic and sheltered to understand that. They all are in that famous family. They aren’t old money. Get over it.

Why did he target her? Because OF LEM. BECAUSE OF LEM.

He’s like his mom Ethel who…had…a problem with…everyone. And his dad, who couldn’t handle life itself. …I couldn’t stand those people. Truly!

His energy knew she took refuge…TOOK REFUGE…at the Minnesota State Fair. LIKE THE SOMALIAN COMMUNITY IN MINNESOTA.

His energy knew she was a sort of…foster kid. And he feels…something is with her. Maybe some big Black man.

*He rolls his eyes*

He’s in denial that he’s not straight. He refuses to consider that Lem’s not gay at all.

*He sighs*

Does it make sense not to support her? NO.

Poor Ilhan.

*He sighs*

…See…this attack isn’t a real argument. It’s a psychotic, one-sided, narcissistic attack. On their part. NOT HER’S.

So…it isn’t…two-sided.

It is NOT two-sided.

If you can try to understand, do.

When we pick a fight with…anything and it’s mutual, we get traction. Because there’s something to connect to. It’s mutual. But when something isn’t mutual…there’s no connection. There’s not REAL traction.

Listen to “Prospector’s Quartet” by Jonny Greenwood, from the film There Will Be Blood. And I’ll keep talking, through the Holy Spirit.

There were a lot of hungry…sad…angry people at the Minnesota State Fair, this year. But this isn’t about that. PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND.

It’s about Bob. That’s ALL.

*He laughs*

But it’s not funny.

*He sits back, as a ghost, in a bench. Near the children’s rides. Examining…everything.*

You could have been stabbed, Lacey. One man watching you, with hatred, thought of it. But…-

*He laughs.*

If you were stabbed, you’d DIE. You’d almost certainly die.

*He exhales, rather dramatically.*

And..there’s no glory in that, for evil. Because you’re a very, very real Christian. And…you’d just be…with God. Your family might be. Soon.

So…killing you, or…anything of that sort…makes NO SENSE. …There’s no evil greater than God. Maybe the current elite don’t truly understand that concept, almost at all.

They have to do something else.

Listen to “Sabotage” by the Beastie Boys.

Satan…deeply resents being put in this position.

It’s enough to have to put up with me. God allowing the dead to talk? …He usually controls that. But Satan can’t with you, NOT BOBBY. Even though Bobby Kennedy Junior BRAGS ABOUT IT.

Listen to “Sure Shot” next.

*A crowd of Satanists invade the Minnesota State Fair grounds, in their spirits. On behalf of…Christ. Yes, definitely a plot twist.

It’s effective.*

…See…all Bobby is doing…is causing ABSOLUTE CHAOS.

*He stares at Bobby. Drilling into his spirit, with his dead person eyes.*

1:55

The “living” Catholics in Minnesota, completely screwed-up. You don’t abandon A VICTIM, just because you like her enemies politics more. Thinking what? That you’re in a honey pot deal? Thinking you’re gonna get some sugar? Yeah! They thought they had a SWEET DEAL.

*He laughs*

2:50

FINALLY really get at England. FINALLY…kick their butts. It’s “restorative justice”-

*He cracks-up, laughing.*

She is Lacey BANKS. She’s SO British, seeming.

But she’s his victim. THIS IS NOT THE TIME. OBVIOUSLY!!!

2:56

The song finishes.

Listen to “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” by Will Smith.

Lem.

Lem was HETEROSEXUAL.

0:28

He’s…very into her. Her, being Lacey.

Bobby is the weakling. Not her.

So…even though he’s…a bully, like his mother. He’s not…winning. Because HE MAKES NO SENSE. It’s a one-sided attack on her and her family.

0:58

1:12

I’m sure Lem would love to dance with Lacey in a club. To this song.

2:41

So…the energy is OFF.

WAY off.

3:30

Lem ran off with some chick! MAN! He did not see that coming. AT ALL.

The song ends.

Listen to “Cuban Cabby” by Desi Arnaz.

…He didn’t think Lem was really just his babysitter, held hostage by his family. Forced to be nice to him and his siblings and cousins. He never put that all together, ever.

*He looks sad, and thoughtful.*

And every time he thinks about it, because of Lacey, his spirit just wants to lash out at her. Viciously.

Don’t ask him for “confirmation”. Okay?

*eye-rolls*

I’m the ghost of Louis Hill Junior. And if he wants to come fight with me…HE CAN.

*He laughs*

He’s a THIEF. In relation to Lem, and her. And her whole family. He has no glory nor honor, in relation to her and her family. NONE AT ALL.

1:36

Bobby has bitterness. Sadness. Rage. And confusion. Other than pure evil. In relation to her.

1:40

Desi Arnaz was bisexual. Yes, Lucille Ball knew. So was she!

Lem was straight.

3:03

The song ends.

Listen to “Hot Blooded” by New Constellations.

Neither Lem nor Lacey nor anyone in her family would ever be with Bobby. Ever.

He can’t accept that. Poor thing. In a way, he just wants his parent’s approval.

His bid for U.S. President, was pathetic.

*Lou looks sad, and empathetic, for Bobby.*

So…he somehow put a hit on Lacey’s life. Feeling completely justified. Thinking he’s still got Lem, if he can just kill Lacey. …Or hoping he could put her in REAL physical pain, again. His Uncle Joe threw her down her stairs, in her house. The stairs to the second floor. And she smashed her head on her iron radiator. She still has whiplash. But she’s mostly recovered, years later.

Sometimes the Kennedys are…supposedly the champions of the underdog. In this case, THEY ARE NOT. They’re absolute idiots. And they’re in denial of reality. It’s PATHETIC. You can’t make people love you!!

But that was the idea. The idea at the Minnesota State Fair, was to punch Lem in his face. Somehow. And the demonic was supposed to interpret it all, make sense of it, and then take direct action.

The best the demonic could do…was find…that man. Rile up a bunch of Somalians. And let them fight each other.

*He laughs*

It’s actually insane!!

So, what happened-

*He looks incredibly angry, and he can’t laugh about it anymore.*

2:39

“Just a little bit more!” Bobby Kennedy Junior says to…his imaginary idea of people, who he fixates on.

Micheal Lemoyne Kennedy has a POLICE RECORD. …Bobby’s BROTHER. HAS POLICE RECORD…FOR STALKING a very young woman.

The Kennedys have been accused rape for over a hundred years. THEY OBSESS. Not their victims.

*He laughs*

So…he had to be right. HE HAD TO BE. Bobby, that is. HAD TO BE.

*Looks livid*

The song ends. At 4:42.

Listen to “Waterfall” by Vök.

So…this stalking energy…is always on her tail. And she’s fine. As long as she plays it really safe.

The Catholic Church should be. But it isn’t.

1:46

2:00

Minnesota…is being terrorized. And she’s PROTECTING IT. Not the opposite. OBVIOUSLY.

So am I. Through my prayers, as a dead saint, in Christ.

She’s mired in an attack, spiritually. But…that’s all. She’s NOT THE LOSER. She’s that rare, deadly combination of both victim and hero. And…what’s more? It DISGUSTS her.

No, it really does.

This ain’t no show queen.

By attacking her…you get Bobby on your ass.

Why? No, not because he cares about her.

*I laugh*

Because it’s ABSOLUTE NONSENSE.

2:33

He’s convinced Lem is gay. Bobby Kennedy Junior is convinced Lem is gay. And he’s turned the internet into his home.

3:33

Yes, he’s aging. Bobby Kennedy Junior is getting OLD.

And all he has left…is bullshit.

4:00

But he’s not the only one.

4:14

So if you attack Lacey…you get his attack. Because…HE BELIEVES HIS OWN LIES. That’s all he really and truly has.

He’s a true old fart loser. And by siding with him, he’s going to think you’re seeing everything he sees, in every situation.

The song ends.

So…if you’re not…quite right? GOOD LUCK.

WHAT!?

Lacey: What the hell is he actually trying to say?

*She laughs*

Eric: Did you make caramels tonight?

Lacey: YUP!

Eric: He didn’t write that!

First of all, he didn’t write that.

And…he worked FOR HOURS on his delivery. Speech coaches. Analysts. Psychologists. Medical doctors for his health. He wasn’t a very bright man.

Second of all, *He cracks up laughing* he was trying to say that he supported labor. But he couldn’t just come right out and say that, because he had to seem clever. Part of it was his accent. He had a thick Back Bay accent, so everything he said sounded stupid. The “Boston accent” is cool…but it can sound dumb. There are a lot of poor people who have thick regional accents, and he wasn’t poor… but he had one. And people think being poor means you’re and idiot.

I don’t make this stuff up. I’m not the one who invented it all. Okay? You know that, Lacey. I’m just worried about other people who are reading this who could misunderstand.

So there was that, but he also couldn’t say it outright. He had to come back around to the point via speech patterns that were… insane, in my opinion. He always was making a joke. Every time he said something, it was as some sort of barb.

*He laughs with Lacey*

Now, what was he actually saying? He was saying that being antagonistic towards labor is foolish and that you absolutely have to support labor if you’re an honest American.

Lacey: But…out of historical context…this sounds bizarre.

I do recall what you’re saying, now that you mention it. The issues of labor unions. The “trusts America” as a thing, back then when America was America. Like, people would claim to trust in the glory of America but not in the validity of labor unions.

I just hate the way it’s worded.

Eric: So do I.

He’s so quoted, but I hate a lot of his speeches. I always feel condescended to.

Lacey: Why is that so popular? Do most people think they’re in his crew? So…he isn’t really talking to them?

Eric: Ha!

J. Crew!

Ummm…

No. I think, actually, people feel like they have to like him. Like they feel like they have to like Mark Twain.

But that’s just my opinion.

*Later.*

Laura: Yes???

Lacey: What…really was that miner saying?

Laura: *Laughs*

What are you suggesting?

Lacey: I’m wondering if he was very covertly insulting JFK? Possibly insinuating he was gay. And…effeminate. And…stupid.

What coal miner of that era would have been so down on work? So certain laziness was cool?

Or did they just make that whole thing up? Possibly to skirt the real issues even?

Laura: Ahhh…

Give me a minute.

WOW.

I wish Eric was still up. He’s more knowledgeable about this than me.

Umm…

Oh my gosh!

*She laughs*

Yes. Because…his work was his identity. That’s kinda part of the premise of the show Mad Men.

I mean…maybe not? But…I’m going to go with the affirmative. Yes, he did mean to insult Jack Kennedy. And the line, “Well, you didn’t miss much!” was another veiled insult.

I wonder if some people even knew that back then!? But they’ve shuffled around the facts on the face of it to seem like a great compliment to JFK.

Lacey: Like some weird inside joke he was in on with all of “working America”?

Laura: Yes!

Lacey: Why was the coal miner so angry, I wonder?

What’s the real story?

Laura: What do you think…the real story is with JFK and coal miners?

Lacey: I always assumed…he’d done basically nothing to help them. Maybe a little something? But not much. And that…they mostly just played that angle up to get votes.

Laura: I actually wonder if that’s true.

Okay. Next topic.

Do you know how many people have been mad you, in the perfume community, simply because you claimed to love Chanel No. 22? *she laughs*

Lacey: See…why is that so upsetting?

Laura: Because it was the wrong thing.

*She laughs*

It’s not a “rich girl” perfume. And most of those people actually do pretend to be wealthier than they are. Or they just like enjoying themselves, and feeling rich.

Lacey: I don’t wear perfume that way. I wear it more like it’s art…or…and…a cosmetic.

I don’t think almost any of my perfume was purchased to seem “rich”.

Laura: Other people yeah, but you? No.

What would you have purchased to seem rich?

Lacey: *Thinks.*

Bois Des Îles.

*Thinks*

Huh.

I’d wear a strong lavender oil. Or…some other sort of oil.

Trendiness is SO middle class. So consumeristic.

And everything else is already discovered.

Laura: YES!

Which is why Carolyn Kennedy wore a street musk. She was…trying to smell good. Not just trendy.

Lacey: I’d wear some…body lotion, but I can’t find anything quite that good.

Laura: But it’s to smell rich, you have to remember that.

Lacey: *Thinks*

I don’t think I can manage that.

Laura: Yeah!

So you can’t think of any other perfume that’s intentionally to smell rich, other than Bois Des Îles?

Lacey: No. Not for me.

I wear perfume that I know other people feel rich wearing, but I’ve never found something for me.

Laura: Yeah. Like it makes you feel rich? Or smell rich?

Lacey: Yeah.

Laura: I hear you.

What about…Coco Mademoiselle?

Lacey: No.

It’s good.

For commercial travel? Yes! For a day at a museum? YES.

But…it’s not rich smelling. It smells…potentially rich…but it’s not rich smelling.

Laura: Does anything other than Bois Des Îles smell truly rich?

Lacey: I can’t think of anything!

I mean, there’s a difference between “what rich people actually wear” and “rich people perfume”.

Laura: Yes!!!

Rich people wear…so many different things. But…to indicate wealth? That’s a different matter.

Lacey: Exactly!

Laura: Do you think people…realize this?

Lacey: Well maybe not?

You can’t indicate wealth…that easily. Some things are kind of a tell, but…-

Laura: Do we psychically sense it? And then either lie to ourselves or not?

Lacey: I don’t know…

Laura: Okay.

Well, it’s late.

Lacey: Indeed.

Laura: *Waves goodbye*

*This was a text conversation between Lacey and her friend Laura, who lives on the West Coast.*
